Here's a really interesting case. No body, but someone saying that he was murdered. It's sad to think his body is just lying out somewhere.

I did find an unidentified persons case that I thought might be this guy. He was found not far from the International Drive area and some other details made me think it could be a match. The detective on that case is aware but I won't say what case it is yet as it hasn't been confirmed or denied yet.

Orange County deputies seeking clues in 12-year-old homicide
MAY 19, 2016
SBM
  • ...lived in Central Florida more than a decade ago.
  • ...in 2004, he was murdered,
  • ...do not have his exact identity or his remains,
  • Roberto, whose last name may have been Perez, was about 5 feet and 6 to 8 inches tall with a thin build, and weighed 155 to 165 pounds.
  • ...Puerto Rican,
  • ...maybe 42 or 43 years old,
  • ...[poss] wore a uniform and a nametag for work.
  • ...could have worked in hospitality somewhere along International Drive, probably in a restaurant [poss a server].
  • ...composite sketch

I spoke to a homicide supervisor for the sheriff's office and he confirmed that all they have for this case is the reporting of this alleged homicide. The witness has never said what encouraged him to provide the tip and his claims have not been confirmed. Along with the composite, an area of land was searched, but nothing could be found. I don't want to put the man in danger so I won't say who he is.

If it's true, imagine the courage it took for the person to come forward and report what he knew to police. That's a good human right there.

I’ll say that I think he got into a situation where he had a perfect opportunity to speak with detectives and couldn’t miss out on that opportunity.

Bumping. It's possible that the restaurant Roberto may have worked at was a tourist restaurant.

Bumping. Anything new on this case. What makes them so sure the tip is legitimate.

remains were just found not far from I-drive off the interstate. Height is off, but since it was only partial found, I try not to let that be a rule out alone.

The estimated PMI is six months so probably not the same as this alleged murder victim.
but the estimated year of death is 1963-83, so I would question the validity of all the information before ruling out

It is believed he was indeed dumped not far from the I-Drive area. And yeah, it's hard to go off this NamUs profile due to the varying estimates. Good find.

I know a search of an area was conducted back in 2015/2016, but it did not yield any results.

International Drive is known for constant turnover of themed restaurants. It has grown exponentially in the last decade and of course Covid disrupted everything.

It wouldn't surprise me if he was found in a retention pond. They have to dig those, and be aware of any natural wetlands first, when they're doing the land development. They're not usually too deep tho and with the drought this summer, maybe his remains will be easier to find.

You are not the first person to suggest he might be hidden in a lake. It's a somewhat popular theory amongst people. Hard to tell though without finding a body or knowing where to search.

That’s assuming of course that the tip about this alleged murder was true which it very well might not be.

Bumping up this unusual case.
Can anyone find if it's been added to NamUs or any updates?

The case hasn’t been added to namus as this murder is only alleged to have happened and no body has been found.
