A Holly Hill, Fla., grandmother who said she wanted her infant grandson to have a better life was sentenced to five years in prison for trying to sell him.

June 2011:

DAYTONA BEACH -- A 42-year-old Holly Hill man who pleaded no contest in a baby-selling case was arrested on charges he punched a man who is disabled, according to a police report.

Lawrence Eugene Works was arrested Friday on a felony battery charge, and released later that night on $1,500 bail.

These days, Bigbee is serving a five-year prison sentence that does not end until 2016. Works, meanwhile, has been in and out of jail for various offenses, including battery on a pregnant woman.

Aidan's biological mother was also implicated in the baby-selling scheme. But Bigbee Davis, 23, has since been released from prison after serving her two-year sentence, court records show, and has moved to Michigan.
