Thanks for your post #20, @Unsolved. It makes me want to cry. I guess they were friends when she organized the fundraiser. It does sound like it was good cause.

Did he come-on to her just lately and she showed no interest, and he got angry and then whatever-he-did? At least he was man enuff to 'fess up and lead LE to where she was.
So now we have a young child with no mom; and a dad now with, probably, full time custody; and a mom with no daughter; and all the other family members suddenly realizing they will never see her or laugh or eat or just talk with her again; and a woman who had dreams and love for her child who will never realize them?

ETA: I don't know why, but this one really gets to me. Dammit.

Oh yes it is all so, so sad. For some reason I'm getting vibes of the Jessica Padgett murder case in PA from a couple years ago if anyone remembers that one.

I haven't researched this case enough yet but I wonder if there was a money angle? Did the sanctuary receive all the funding that was raised. Could he have been angry about that?

So now what happens to the sanctuary animals? Gee Whiz. This idiot professes to be an animal lover and then commits murder. Sure makes you wonder what other false persona he put out for the public to see.

He sure wanted everyone to think he was a good guy....

"Eric Westergard is doing his part to help out. At his sanctuary in Jupiter Farms, he cares for around 380 animals.

"You got kangaroos, Muckjack Deers, there’s Kinkajous, lemurs, porcupines," he explained. Westergard says he also has iguanas, snakes, tarantulas, miniature horses, and an Emu. However, he says most of his pets are birds."

Exotic pet owners urged to foster others; local sanctuary takes care of nearly 400 animals

Yep, wow -- was he bragging?! Well, let him brag in the brig!
Grrrrr.
Bless her soul.

Another one of those unfortunate incidents where the young girl tripped, fell and hit her head, and the man decided that the best way to deal with this kind of accident was to wrap her in garbage bags add a cinder block and toss her in a canal.
OMG. IMO

Thanks much, @cvaldez1975, for the Affidavit. Amazing. Westergard had a good bit of truth in there, until the part where he allegedly killed her. He's in lots of trouble.

I feel so sorry for Maverick, Perrin's son, but he will have the grieving grandmother and his father to care for him. Telling him that his Mom is gone will be a sad, sad thing.
