FL - Priscilla Torres, 19, shot to death, Miami, 10 Feb 2018 *arrest*

On Saturday, February 10 at around 4:20 a.m., officers responded to gunfire at the corner of Northwest 29th Avenue and 12th Street. That’s where they found a woman lying face down in the street. The same day her body was found, the Miami Shores Police Department released a missing person flyer for 19-year-old Priscilla Torres, a Barry University student, who was reported missing by her mother. The vehicle that she was last seen in, a white Nissan Sentra with FL Tag: HZBU86, has not been found.

The motive behind the shooting is unknown.

MIAMI, FL — Miami police have identified the victim from a weekend slaying as a missing 19-year-0ld Barry University student. Priscilla Torres died of multiple gunshot wounds early Saturday morning in the area of NW 29th Avenue and 12th Street. She was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center by Miami Fire Rescue where she was pronounced dead.

Officer Michael Vega of the Miami Police Department told Patch on Monday that several members of the media noticed similarities between the police sketch of the murder victim and Torres, who was reported missing by her mother.

Police said they are searching for a Nissan Sentra in which Torres was last seen riding. The Sentra has a Florida tag number of HZBU86

Almost four months after a Barry University student was found shot to death and her car was found engulfed in flames several miles away, police using cellphone technology and video surveillance have charged a teenage friend of hers with the crime.

Video Shows Student With Alleged Killer Before Her Death


Newly obtained surveillance video shows what police say helped them arrest a suspect in the February murder of a Barry University student.

NBC 6 exclusively obtained the video months after 18-year-old Jamie Luis Plasencia was arrested and charged in the murder of 19-year-old Priscilla Torres in Little Havana.

The video shows Torres walking out of her dorm with a man, who was later identified as Plasencia.
