FL FL - Ralph Hampton Miller, 17, Lakeland, Sept 19, 1970

Not even a year later and this is in the newspaper? His name can't be that popular, even in 1970.

From digging through some archives, I think Ralph's father remarried in 1971. I've attached the findagrave link for Ralph Snr and his wife Carolyn, as well as her obituary which mentions Ralph's siblings who were referenced in above posts.

Coos County John Doe (1971)
I don't think this Doe was ever ruled out as possibly being Miller. Across the country from Florida, but not a stretch of possibility. Fairly easy to get from Florida to Oregon by hitchhiking over the course of a few months.
That person has been identified, according to the wikia link.

I’ve emailed both NamUs and CP to notify them of the error.
I find it odd that the wrong picture would still be used (at least without clarifying it's only used for reference because there are no better pictures of Ralph's face than the one where he is standing -- if that would be the case), this much later, and after the error was brought to various attention.

This namus profile is not much to go off but location and age match up! Could this be Ralph?

So sad that only a partial skull was recovered. I think you should submit it.

NAMUS still shows the brothers picture. Did anyone contact them about the error?

I see a strong resemblance between Ralph and Dean Corll victim Swimsuit Boy. Corll's accomplice Elmer Wayne Henley noted travel to Florida at some point.

And the clothing they found with Swimsuit Boy's remains looks like the hip and groovy types of clothes a young man would be wearing to a concert in this timeframe.

Am kind of floored by the resemblance, but I know many people can have a resemblance of some kind to one another and-- they're still different people.

IMO, even if he is not Corll's unidentified victim, Ralph hitchiking and possibly falling victim to Corll is certainly worth considering. Sure, there were all sorts of dangers that came with hitchiking, and plenty of predetors other than Corll, but given how clearly Henley's account provides for further unidentified or unknown victims, cases such as these need to be thoroughly examined for connections.
