FL - Razor Blade In Halloween Candy Bar

I for one know how news stories get things wrong,so it is possible that a few hundred houses was meant to be a few houses..but whatever thats not the topic of the story or is it?
Possible. But - given what I posted earlier - it also sounds like the parents trying to have their 15 minutes of fame, without worrying about facing someone they are falsely accusing. Giving the police a huge pool of suspects, they can be vague, and not directly accuse any innocents. If you are trying to pose as the victim, but aren't really bad people, you'll try not to be too specific about the 'criminal', because you don't want to actually accuse anyone.

To hit a "couple of hundred" houses in the 2-3 hours the kids go out trick-or-treating, that's a different house every minute. The kids would have to be on rollerblades.

Wow, if you have google earth, check the detail on the Niles story as far as the streets covered. It's quite a distance. Did they drive?!

I googled where I grew up and we had about 40 houses per street, both sides and they were close together. We always went as many streets over as we could in 2 hours! So maybe we hit at minimum 200.

Of course, we weren't supposed to go that many streets over. :D

People routinely drive their kids to different neighborhoods around here. I bet 3/4ths of my little trickRtreaters are from nowhere near where I live.

200 homes sounds like alot to me, because where I live the homes are "somewhat" spread out. But there are neighborhoods around here where the houses are just about stacked one on top of the other, and in two hours you could probably go to at least 200....

Almost 2 houses per minute to 200 in 2 hours. No matter how fast you run - doesn't work. I doubt even pizza flyer people do it that fast.

My bro and SIL live in a neighborhood with HUGE homes and yards. I'd say it takes a good minute for each home. Where I grew up we could probably hit 4/minute. They aren't that far apart and we ran. There weren't any parents to watch over us like I do with my kids now!

Don't forget...Florida is basically two states - takes 9-10 hours to get out of it. I'm a historian...concentrating mainly on Polemics in the Middle Ages...but also Florida history.
