Police look for missing Oviedo woman

Rebecca Maratta, 41, was last seen Jan. 17 at her parents' home on West Rivera Boulevard. She left the home without telling anyone where she was going.

Troopers found her car two days later broken down on the southbound side of I-95 in the Port Orange area.

This is unusual. But aren't they all? She was on the wrong side to going away from Oviedo. It seems that she was on her way back from somewhere. Or maybe someone else had her car and dumped it out there. I wonder if she would have gone to Daytona to party.

She appears to have a young daughter. Unless she was confused or emotionally depressed, I doubt she'd leave her child behind.

The facts that capture my attention are these:

-the car overheated. Whoever was driving it must have been traveling to some destination. In other words, it wasn't just a vehicle dump to get the car away from another location.

-she's a professional but was living with her parents. That could mean that she was dealing with something in her personal life.

-the fact that her car broke down on the interstate leads me to suspect that she is a victim of another driver.

-I believe it said her last ping was in Jacksonville. So how did her car get all the way back to Port Orange without pinging? That would be weird.
