Search underway for missing child abducted by parent in Hialeah

7-year-old Roy Stephens III was taken from his father’s home along West Sixth Court and 23rd Street, around 8:30 a.m., Saturday.

The child is said to be with his mother, Rickquita Wright, without consent from the father, who holds legal custody.

Police said Wright, who resides in Georgia, arrived unannounced at the Hialeah residence and fled the scene with the 7-year-old while the father was distracted.

The pair are said to be traveling in a Silver Toyota Corolla with an unknown Georgia tag.

Officials said the vehicle was additionally occupied by two unknown males and an unknown female.

Oh, no. I wonder how bad his asthma is. That is a full car...4 adults and 1 child in a Corolla. I hope they find this little guy soon. :(

Missing boy from Hialeah found safe at mother's home in Georgia, police say
- A 7-year-old boy from Hialeah who was believed to have been abducted by his mother over the weekend was found safe Monday at her house in Georgia, authorities said.
Stephens said he reminded his ex-wife when she showed up Saturday morning that he has legal custody of their son.

"She was saying that the documents wasn't real, they was fake," he said.
Stephens is heading to Georgia with his cousin to reunite with his son.
