FL FL - Sabrina Aisenberg, 5 months, Valrico, 24 Nov 1997

the mother said she'd left windows unlocked, not open. at least that's how i understood it. not smart, but not criminal either. in the case of the family pet... dogs are sometimes unpredictable. we have a friend who was robbed at gunpoint, in his driveway, over the christmas holidays. his dog, a known "barker" was with him and never made a sound during the robbery. the robber stole our friend's teenage daughter's car. why that car? an older, used car, when there was a new nissan in the driveway also? upon making the 911 call, our friend was so shaken that the only description he could give of his daughter's car was that it was a gold, 4-door. why didn't he give the make and model?

in my humble opinion, we all do things that don't make sense under stress... parents forget to lock windows, dogs don't bark, robbers take the crappy car instead of the good one, and even victims of crime forget basic information.

the aisenbergs are guilty of being naive but i personally don't think they're guilty of murder.

i wish i'd seen this thread 3 months ago.
the asenbergs were on the october 13th 2009 oprah show.......it started off with the two police officers who helped save jaycee and her daughters. the asenbergs were on later, and basically said jaycee's sitution gave them new hope. basically that if sabrina is out there, she might notice her resemblence to them and somehow try to contact them. it was heartbreaking really...knowing that, if she really is out there, she would have no memory of her real family...her abductors are her family in her mind.
if the mom was lying, she is a very good actress imo

I just don't know what to think......I really don't. They aren't similar to the McCanns, IMO, but....I just don't know.

Do a lot of innocent people plead the Fifth when called to testify before a grand jury? Come on. If Sabrina's dad doesn't set off your Susan Smith Alarm, at least just a little bit, then you probably don't possess one.

TAMPA — What happened to the baby girl is a mystery.
What happened to the federal prosecutor who handled the case against Sabrina Aisenberg's parents is not: A Justice Department inquiry found that he recklessly broke the rules when he charged them with lying about her disappearance.
The Florida Bar admonished the prosecutor, Stephen Kunz. The government dropped its case against Sabrina's parents, and paid defense lawyers nearly $1.5 million, the largest such sanction ever imposed against the Justice Department for its mishandling of a criminal case. And Kunz lost his position handling criminal cases for the U.S. Attorney's Office here.

These poor people.

I wish we knew more on this poor little child. A very sad story and the parents will always be suspect.

Of all the missing children (and sadly, there are many) I've always felt that the child most likely to be alive is Sabrina. Not likely that a 5 month old infant was taken for sexual gratification or trafficking. She did not witness any illegal activity. Most likely she was taken by someone who was desperate for a child, and hopefully that person has taken proper care of Sabrina.

I believe that Sabrina could be alive and be living with a "normal" family right now. However, if she is alive, she is not going to remember her parents at all. If they find a preteen and they do DNA, and it's Sabrina, now what? Obviously, you would charge her new "parents" with kidnapping but those are the people she grew up with. She doesn't know the Aisenbergs at all, they are strangers to her. It's a very sad situation all around. :(

I've never really suspected her parents of being involved. I understand how many people can, since it is the easiest answer, but it's just never seemed right.

I hope also that Sabrina is alive, but I have my doubts. I suspect that Sabrina was taken by someone that new the family, and for that reason, with the massive LE response, may have felt threatened and gotten rid of her before they could be caught. JMO.

I am glad that the case against her parents finally did collapse. :)
I had felt sorry for them from the start of this case, I never thought they did anything but love their daughter. They will forever have a hole in their heart.:(

Just maybe one day a DNA test will bring her back to them -

I have always felt that is what happened. The Mother ran a Mommy and Me program. They were such a nice fam. The baby was adorable. I always thought some desperate woman noticed her and stole her. I have never thoughtthe Aisenbergs did anything to their baby. I cant imagine having to live thru this:(

Are the recordings of the recorded conversations online anywhere? I have seen some people mention they were played on TV so it seems they might be out here somewhere.

I heard them, they were just a bunch of gobbly gook. There is no way I heard 'the baby is dead, you did it" bla bla bla
NO way. I dont know where they are online.
You might try tampatribune.com?
48 HRS Mysteries did a show on this awhile back.

There is also the more frightening possibility that Sabrina was taken and sold on the baby "black market".

I already felt that Sabrina's mom was stalked for a long time by someone that wanted a baby.

I think this case by all reports is that LE drop the ball. It not always the parents.

My prayers are wiith the Aisenberg<3 They need more coverage with the new sketch
showing a older Sabrina.

Hi! I'm sure we heard the same thing, from the same news stations, as we are both in the Tampa Bay area.

It was just excerpts that were released. I've never seen a link to the full version.

ITA with ya. I could not make out anything on those tapes. The sound was horrible and muffled.
