It was difficult to understand what Mr. Loyd said, as there was some echo in ctroom, but he flat out refused to answer many questions.

Seems the judge went into a lot of detail about potential pitfalls of rep'ing self. and repeated many points two or three times. Judge stressed that Loyd should carefully consider various aspects the judge laid out. JM2cts.

Markeith Loyd refused to come out of his jail cell for a first court appearance Friday morning.

Due to the publicity surrounding his capture, an Orange County Sheriff's spokeswoman said a woman who'd had a gun pulled on her during an altercation with two men last August, recognized Loyd as that suspect. No other details from the August 21 incident were made available.

Judge denies bond reduction for man accused of helping hide murder suspect Markeith Loyd

An Orange County judge denied a request for a bond reduction Wednesday morning for a 33-year-old man accused of helping murder suspect Markeith Loydhide from police.

Investigators said they arrested Zarghee Mayan on charges that he helped Loyd (...)

His bond is set at $400,000, but his attorneys had asked for it to be lowered to $10,000.

Mayan’s attorneys argued that their client surrendered his passport, proving he isn't a flight risk. But prosecutors said the man has extensive ties to New York and remains both a flight risk and a danger to the community.

A man accused of helping murder suspect Markeith Loyd avoid capture may walk out of the Orange County Jail on Wednesday.

The state attorney’s office has offered to reduce the bond for Zarghee Mayan to $20,000, but a judge still has to approve the reduction.
