Found Deceased FL - Sandra Lemire, 47, Orlando, 8 May 2012

  • #181
I need someone with some street knowledge here. Let's say Sandra has passed on (whether from a diabetic crisis or a murderer). How would this person dispose of the car? If someone found her car empty, would they try to sell it?

So, lets say you have a car that you believe is hot. Do you post it on CL? Do you walk around on the street and try to sell it for really cheap? Do you leave it in a bad area with the keys inside? Abandon it in a rural area?*

Because her case hasn't been plastered all over the area, it is possible that someone is trying to sell the car on CL or even drive it around? She has been gone for awhile and there is very little info and perhaps that is making the perp overconfident?

*I am assuming if it is abandoned in an area that is populated and the car is impounded the police would have been notified at this point.

Well, we just had a chop shop bust in Central FL. Not sure it could be related to the van disappearing but apparently their thefts occurred in several surrounding counties. I'm sure there must be more chop shops in the area, this is just one example.

Far as Craigslist goes, I checked both the Daytona and Orlando Craigslist and only saw a couple that could be possibilities but they were on dealer sites. Dealers are pretty careful, aren't they? (not sure)

All JMO of course

A dealer would have to have a transfer of title to resale the car or van.

If it got towed to an impound yard, LE may not know. I don't know if they notify impounds of cars and plate numbers they are looking for. I would hope so, but I don't know for sure. You would have to call one and see.

Thinking back to the Casey Anthony case, the impound yard notified GA and CA. So I would think an impound yard would notify the grandmother. If the papers weren't in the van, they could go by the VIN#...assuming it was there.

JMO, of course

Well, there are family members listed at the "Find Sandy Lemire" FB page but as yet there are no responses to my inquiry in regards to family spokesperson, permissions and flyers etc...so I don't know if anybody is even monitoring that page.

I live in Deltona and read about the chop shop and thought of Linda's vehicle. They said that cars were stolen from as far away as Hillsborough County. I doubt they stole many cars with people still in them! But it's possible that someone else did and then sold the car to the chop shop. It's not the first chop shop I've read recently. So it happens.

While sleuthing the case of Jack Mac Girdner a few weeks ago, I saw a story about a dealer in Central Florida who was busted for selling cars. Apparently, he was on parole or probation over a fraud charge related to a used car dealership he had owned at some point. And he was arrested because he was selling cars again.

That person only kills prostitutes, doesn't really hide the bodies and would never take a vehicle.

While I'm not suggesting Sandra has fallen prey to the SK in Daytona Beach, the last victim in the Daytona case, Stacy Gage, had no prior arrests for prostitution and LE found her body days before they found her van several miles away.

My thoughts and prayers are with Sandra and all that know and love her.

Is there a protocol for reaching out to family to find out if they would like some help from searchers? I don't want to cross any lines. But I want to help if possible. And I don't know whether there has ever been any organized or even unorganized search.

Scorpio, I linked to the thread because she would have taken I-4 to her date and back home to her grandmothers, if she took the fastest route. I thought of you and your research. I hope this is not the case for her, but thought it may be something to consider, since she was doing speed dating and many of the SK cases, men pry on woman who are lonely or not aware of the dangers in the area. I never heard of most of the woman you listed and never thought of a SK. I live about 45 minutes from Tampa. So I want to check out that thread in more detail and maybe think about some of the case in Orlando that are unsolved. Thank you for all with work you have done on these cases and tracking them.

I'm almost sure she would take OBT to Kissimmee. I doubt that she'd take I-4.

Thanks Bern - I just wish there weren't so many to track. There's been quite a few missing or found dead in Northern Florida as well, but I wasn't sure where to list those on WS.

I say we map them all out. Might be hard but could payoff in the long run. Maybe we could check for all of the missing persons NamUs files & whomever may not have one set up, we could submit an inquiry for it to be set up. Then post a link at each address/area the person went missing on a Florida map. That way we could just click on the link for stats. Might be easier to do that so we could see which missing people share the same physical features or stats. It would also show us a grid of the area the perp/s frequent.

What are the stats on where an sk dumps their victim? If their hunting ground near their dumping ground?

Ok, I can start working on the mapping details - I'm not familiar with working with NamUs though, so someone else would have to work on that angle. I did contact a journalist recently about a body found in Del Ray Beach that police have yet to identify. According to the journalist police will not confirm the identity of the woman, nor the cause of death.

Also, if we collectively work on this as proposed should we start a new thread?

It would be interesting to have a photo and stats for each person and where they went missing on a map. I don't know how to do any of this on google. I can't even link to a map and get it right. :banghead:
