I recall SB saying that she awoke at around 11 AM but she did not get out of bed until around 1 PM.

I don't remember clearly so that's quite possible. I would think if she was awake, she'd want to get out of bed and go smoke a cigarette before 1:00, but who knows. I don't think we'll ever know the truth about what happened in that house in the 24 hours prior to the police arriving.

Here's the link. It seems Brian (her son's father) wakes her when he phones to confirm if she's going to collect their son at school. SB tells police although she was awake, she didn't go downstairs until 12:30 pm. I said 1 pm in my earlier post.

Also, I'm not sure which head injuries came from the bat and which came from the suitcase being flipped over while Jorge was inside. Listening to the neighbor testify, sounds like the suitcase was possibly bounced down the stairs! JMO

I still can't fathom how he fit in the suitcase and she was able to zip it.

I hope it wasn't lost on the jurors -- the witness who had leverage, lighting, no impairment and wasn't inside it -- struggled to unzip the suitcase.

I can't even picture how JT was folded into that suitcase. Imagine being so bound by space, you can't kick, push, rip your way out. If the zipper is LOCKED, even a sober person would be seriously impaired. It's not like two fingers could just push against the teeth and force the zipper back. No pull either, just the pink wire.

She did it to control him. 100% domination. That IS NOT a recognized defense. In fact, it's a recognized crime.

I've watched all of the bodycam video footage from the responding officers. None of them show her being given a breathalyzer test that day.

Not as far as we have seen - and it appears we've seen all the body cam footage - they only scraped her nails at least one or more days later when she went to the station to demand her phone back and ended up being interviewed then arrested. I believe it was the next day but it may not have been.

If LE seriously had her in the frame for a murder then why didn't they leave the crime scene closed, formally question her, scrape her nails and other tests immediately and put her on a conditional discharge pending the autopsy results? My suspicion is that LE didn't particularly care much for JT's life / death.

I believe the PD totally followed their procedures/protocol. That they have codes to follow and do not let a personal feeling get in the way of following the correct procedures/protocol for what could end up being a homicide.

I'm a little confused why they took her cheek swabs for DNA on scene the day of the incident but then didn't collect the nail scrapings until the day of the two hour interview at the police station.

JMO but I don't think LE secured SB as the sole murder suspect from the off.

If SB had been a man and JT a female or even another male, in the exact same circumstances, they would have taken him in immediately IMO.

IMO it defies belief they didn't apprehend her immediately for formal questioning and forensics such as nail scraping. If nothing else, she could have easily fled.

If SB said someone broke in their home and stuffed JT into a case and battered him to death, LE would have had a hard time disproving her story. It was really luck / chance that she'd video recorded herself and they retrieved the videos - mostly as she'd demanded they look at her phone. Had she not volunteered her phone, they may not have even seized it.

In the video posted where LE is questioning SB outside her residence the male homocide detective that arrived with the female one told SB if JT had been an old man (70-80? he mentioned) they wouldn't be questioning if he had medical issues.
What shocked me with what he said was he left out the part that the old man also would have been held in a suitcase that he died in.

Granted they just let her talk without giving her her rights but I never heard any one ever ask her "what the hell were you thinking"?
How does JT being in a suitcase play out with "hide & seek" if you know where he already is?
I would think that detectives would have gone for as much info as possible right after a possible homocide and not give SB time to get lawyered up or conjure up tales.

Yes, they will, as they have not been excluded or removed from evidence to be presented to the jury.

Edit: apologies, mis-read your question. Unsure when, the case is only expected to last a couple of weeks maximum so the forensic evidence is likely to be presented quickly I'd imagine, maybe tomorrow.

They had to have time to investigate. They did, and got her phone info then made sure she understood she could come down and talk to them of her own free will.

SBM. She said (I believe it was in the two hour interview) that she wanted them to look at her phone because she had taken photos of her own injuries from prior fights they'd had and she wanted LE to see that he had hurt her physically in the past. But when she said that, I don't think she remembered she'd made the two suitcase videos. When she was pro se, one of her handwritten letters to the judge said she needed access to the phone in evidence because she had content on there (unclear if it was photos, texts?) that would help her case.
