The State prosecution, thank fully IMO, have successfully argued they believe SB did have a depraved mind and that she gave conflicted statements to LE. The Judge denied the motion for acquittal.

What the what? Owens isn't quite ready to put Sarah on the stand in light of... what? They had no know they had zero chance of getting the 2nd degree murder charge dropped and less chance of an aquittal!

I say 50/50 whether he put her on the stand.

Lol Owens -- he needs 10 mins to explain to SB why she wasn't acquitted. As if...

I have been surprised SB has kept her mouth shut during the prosecution witnesses. Did not think she had that restraint. Can't wait to see her on the stand, will she be humble and oh-so-sorry or will she remain defiant and entitled?

Defence is more or less arguing JT killed himself by entering into a suitcase and dying in there and that it was not due to a depraved mind of SB or unlawful behaviour of SB...
Presumably JT could get himself out of an unzipped suitcase.

An unzipped suitcase provides full access to AIR.

SB zipped it shut.

That's why were here.

Depraved. It's depraved indifference. She knew he couldn't breathe. She didn't care.

It looks like SB is going straight on the stand after this 10 min break.

I guess the 15 year plea deal is never coming back but I wouldn't be surprised if Owens wants to try one last time to ask the court if he can negotiate it with the State.

Curious what med(s) SB was taking when arrested?
She told detectives she needed her prescription and they said where she's going has a pharmacy.
Just wondering if she's medicated for anxiety and if while jailed there's any way one can get the dosage upped while attending their trial and/or for when they take the stand?

Good thinking but at this point due to the time and expense the state has put into her case I would be surprised if the deal is still on the table.
Also I think the state is pleased how their prosecution' is going.

SB be gulping down that water, be needing vodka for this one tho

I think the plea deal at this point would be 25 years for 2nd degree murder.

She will never take the deal. IMO

If SB does take the stand how long until she does a "crash & burn"?

  • #614
I think Owens is trying to explain to SB that she cannot just read out her 158 page novel that she's been writing during the court proceedings to the jury. She is v disappointed and disputing him that it is her true account of JT's demise and her suffering.

Maybe the Defense will rest. No Sarah, no witnesses, no expert.

Best they can do IMO.

Has SB seen how taking the stand went for Jennifer Crumbley and Ashley Benefield?

Approximately 4 minutes for the 'it was a good day arts and crafts speech' and then chaos.

It would not be surprising.

Can a defence team allow their client to take the stand in order to incriminate themselves further? I'm not sure. SB was only charged with second degree murder, she could end up talking herself into first degree murder.

If I were her legal team, I'd just say OK can we skip this bit and go straight sentencing now please.
