SB's only character witness was Ms. Walker, an elderly woman who was her neighbor and they liked each other.
Did she volunteer to defend SB or was she sought out by the defense as being the only one or one of very few people that SB thought would say nice things about her?

At one point in the pretrial motions, payment for Billy Lane (the private investigator paid by the court while Sarah was pro se) was approved and he described his work as trying to track down old neighbors who could possibly testify about their interactions with Sarah and Jorge. I wonder if the result of his investigation work was finding Ms. W.

Did he play stupid?
He testified at trial he was asleep, she was drunk, he really didn't listen, he was used to her drunk calls and hung up soon.
Basically he had no info to give on what she said.
IIRC: it was about 11:45pm

I don’t think he was playing stupid. Sarah is exhausting and awful and drunk all the time. I believe him that she drunk dials him late at night often enough that this time wouldn’t seem any different than any other time she did it. She was following a familiar drunken pattern, he picks up, she’s wasted and incoherent, he hangs up and goes back to sleep. He’d have zero reason to lie about that.

Oh yes good reminder, there was all sorts of preaching in her letters to the Judge, including stuff about 'don't point your finger at anyone because when you point out, three of your fingers are pointing back at you' etc.

I'm real late to this case and only heard about the letters and the jail records about her behaviors.

I'll say that someone up-there definitely likes Judge Michael Kraynick because he's blessed with the patience of a saint.

Ms. Walker was so sweet.
It took a lot for her to just get there no less testify.
I admire her and feel sorry for her that someone she liked as a neighbor,for whatever reasons,was capable of doing this.
That is was just Ms.Walker speaks volumes and I gather that the state couldn't find anyone to testify in court against SB or didn't want/need anyone?

I hope you're right because if BB did hear anything from SB about Jorge being trapped in a suitcase and any threats about him and blew it and SB off that would be hell to live with.

At first I didn't get why the state's female psychiatrist didn't view the videos and text messages.
Could it be that the state didn't give her this evidence to analysis concerned that it would be better for their case for the jury to just blindly see the videos then have had her try and explain what she saw?

No psycho mumbo-jumbo to confuse the jury even more.

The ones that got me the worst were JT sobbing his heart out to the police. And SBs own videos. Despite being behind the lens, she made a horrifying documentary about herself being an abuser and tormentor of an increasingly confused and degraded vulnerable man.

At first I was thinking oh this is going to be tedious watching all this police cam footage. This case is won for the State now, I'm sure of it.

I sure hope so. She has won so far in court anyway. They have had a lot good breaks in her favor.

The doctor who spoke last was not a strong closer. She kept saying ummm, ummm.

What does that say about Brian? Why didn’t he petition for Lucas?

He knew there was physical violence, drug and alcohol abuse.

Easier said than done but I couldn’t drop my child off to a very toxic and dangerous environment.

We all know SB had no issues using the law as a cudgel to deliver more blows on JT, do we really think she wasn’t screwing with Brian in family court, threatening him, attempting to destroy his reputation, harassing him and his family when she didn’t get her way? I think the first taste of control over his own life, finances, household, and parenting came a few months after she was arrested when he realized she’s not coming out, he doesn’t have to worry about her and her behavior anymore.

If he knew anything it could've only helped him to be forthcoming about it. Also, if he knew anything Sarah would’ve held it over his head in order to try to force him into resuming the alimony payments he’s refusing to make while she’s incarcerated. She’s been furious about that for a while (give that letter a read, it’s insane). For all we know she placed the call to Brian that night just so she could say later that she had tried to flee to Brian’s house but couldn’t for whatever reason. She could claim the reason she didn’t call 911 was because the last time she did she was arrested for it. Bada-bing! There’s her excuse for not fleeing and leaving him in the suitcase.

I agree that all is possible but in the meantime there was a little kid who lived in the midst of all this violent madness.
I have no tolerance for the participants and enablers when children's mental and physical health and safety are involved.

I don’t know if it’s fair to be going at BB when we have no idea what he did or didn’t do because the divorce and custody decisions are sealed and we don’t have access to them. In a perfect world Sarah isn’t allowed involvement in her son’s life due to her alcoholism and DV. Unfortunately this is Florida family court and Sarah Boone is adept at manipulation and exploitation. Knowing what we know about the abuse she directed at JT who knows what she did to Brian over the course of the marriage and the divorce.

More importantly the footage showed a few things about Sarah Boone: She is the aggressor and an abuser. Jorge is the victim.

The state saved the best for last by releasing the videos. And thank you Ms. Boone, as the footage came from your phone.

A few other things:

The video established SB was not in fear of Jorge.
SB was the one to be fearful of, not Jorge Torres.
SB controlled everything in the household.
SB an instigator
Jorge spoke to the jury through these videos.

Sorry, SB, not sorry, but you can’t murder someone (and get away with it) because you’re drunk and in an angry rage.
