Owens is up and agitated. Over the family member leaving.

Owens upset State played the video.

Owens wants a mistrial.

His issue is Jorge's mother left the courtroom crying so Sarah's right to a fair trial has been compromised. Oh, come ON.
Throwing those Hail Mary's out there isn't going to help if your team dropped the ball over and over again LOL

Motion DENIED.

Maybe his brother is wearing one of JT’s shirts? In memory of, honor, and tribute? MOO
I thought of that too.
I don't see BB having given Jorge's family any problems when it came to clearing out the apt they lived in.

Except this event was hardly SB fighting back. This was SB starting the fight. SB being the aggressor. You can't claim self-defense when you are the aggressor. The prosecution isn't afraid of the outlandish allegations by the defense.
I’m not defending SB, I’m just giving a possible reason for the defense not pointing that out since it’s an obvious point to make and they didn’t make it as far as I know.

Does Owens typically try cases in court? After watching this trial, I would have to guess he is not a trial attorney.

SB didn't need 911 when Jorge was in the suitcase and she said she feared for her life.
All she needed to do was unzip it a bit and run out the front door.
I don’t disagree. In fact we know there was no reason whatsoever for her to zip him up in the suitcase in the first place.

The only time she was arrested on a DV call was the first time I believe. Every subsequent time she had him arrested and practically gloated about not going to jail herself. We also know she would “flee” to Brian’s home which was close enough she could get there on foot. She could’ve gone there. She wasn’t in danger, she just didn’t want anyone to help Jorge that night.

He knows her goose is cooked. Trying everything he can!
Yes that does seem the case in terms of making that motion, which was denied. And I didn’t see him attempt to cite any applicable case law references. IMO the state’s rebuttal to his assertions / pleadings was also good. IANAL. MOO

I've seen them (attorneys) try outrageous things when they know they are going to lose.
This doesn't shock me. In fact, it gives me hope that he already knows what they are going to decide.

Yes. I dont recall Owens sitting at the defense table at the time that JT's mother got up to leave. Following behind her was Jorge's brother and a female.

He will call for a mistrial using any excuse, imo.

He's extra fired up now so his closing is going to be wild, I bet.

I think Owens has been spending too much time with his ice-woman client SB. I must have watched the suitcase video w/JT a dozen times at this point, and I've found myself shocked on occasion to feel frozen, as if watching the video for the first time. Reality can sometimes be overwhelming -- especially if you're human. JMO

The jury is making their dinner selections, according to the judge.
Jorge's mother is no longer in the courtroom.
*The jury is coming back in.
