So sad to see Jorge's brother in the courtroom. They look so much alike.

From his website:
  • Licensed to practice law in Florida since 1986
  • Prosecutor in Pensacola 1986-1989
  • Elected Public Defender, 1st Judicial Circuit of Florida, 2009-2012
  • Private practice, criminal defense 20+ years
  • Handled over 100 jury trials to verdict
  • Handle cases in Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa County, Florida.
I am surprised by this, I guess those counties mentioned above operate a bit less formally perhaps? I have seen Owens on many occasions just stand up and start talking w/o even saying "Objection". He just seems rinky dink to me.

Strong closing by the state in my opinion. Showing the video of SB filming and coaching JT what to say about her and the statements about we see who controls who in that relationship. And are we so sure JT wasn’t the one suffering from battered spouse syndrome? Nice delivery there.

"Handled over 100 jury trials to verdict" but no mention of how many of those trials he's actually won for his client.

I think showing the jury the images of SB and her bruises was brilliant.
The jury already saw her start physically attacking Jorge.
Any images Owens uses in his closing to try and make SB the sympathetic figure in this case will have no shock value.

Listening to Destiny say she went through depression and suicidal ideation after her father died breaks my heart. She’s one year younger than my step son, he went through that when his mom died when he was 12. I didn’t even realize that they both lost their parents like 4 months apart and were around the same age when it happened too.

Now add covid to the mix on top of trying to deal with the horrific, unexpected death of a beloved parent. I guess we were lucky in a way (if that’s even possible?) because my friend passed away in mid December 2019 so we had no problems having a service and gathering together after her death. Got her ashes just before Christmas. That was difficult to get through, now imagine how that must’ve been for Jorge’s family a couple months later when they actually had the pandemic escalating to deal with as well. This is a child’s life being upended twice and the resources that they could’ve had shrank when the lockdown hit.

Sarah Boone stole a lot from the Torres family but what she took from his children is especially unforgivable.

Yes! Me too. I call that the 8 mile defense. Bringing up the opposing counsel’s arguments and debunking them before they get the chance to make the argument strips them of their power. It’s brilliant, really.

They want to split closings between both of the defense attorneys?

It sounded to me like Owens wants to close but Henderson wants to "say something" at the end of Owens' closing. Kinda weird to me.

Owens is going go present their closing argument. Then Henderson has some things he wants to say.

Does Owens have to do everything in a weird way?

Defense begins their closing argument

Owens begins by pointing to his two legal female assistants and calling them "the girls".

Maybe Robinson needs more screen time for the Netflix movie? /s

Exhibit F of why it surprises me that Owens is a trial lawyer

Just want to observe this is not a good start or look IMO from defense counsel. Making this sound like it is Mayberry R.F.D. SMH. MOO

When will SB stand and say" judge, I'm not satisfied with my legal counsel."?
