Dad tells about Bonita woman found dead in house; Lee deputies still investigating

More than three weeks after a Bonita Springs womanwas found dead in her home, the Lee County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate her death as a homicide, but no arrests have been made.

Sarah Marie Nicholson, 34, was found dead in a house in the 26000 block of Squire Lane when authorities responded to a report of a fire there shortly before 6 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 29.

After firefighters put out the flames, the Lee County Sheriff's Office began investigating the death as a homicide, but three and a half months later, they have released no new developments and no arrests have been made.
"I don't know if any of this is true," Connelly said. "I just heard different stories that they shot her first, and then put gas all over, set her on fire and called 911 and stole her car,"

Trial continues for man charged in murder, robbery of Bonita Springs woman in 2017

Witnesses say the victim was stabbed 12 times, some slashes so deep they had exit wounds as the trial for Cristian Edwin Dilan, 23, linked to the Bonita Springs woman's death

On Oct. 29, 2017, Lee County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to Nicholson's Squire Lane home about 6 a.m. in response to a fire. Firefighters found her body in the home, the apparent victim of a homicide.

An alleged accomplice, Raymond Gomez, also charged with Nicholson’s death, awaits his trial date, not yet scheduled.

2 jurors dismissed from trial of man accused in death of Bonita Springs woman

The second day of the trial of a man accused in the death of a Bonita Springs woman began with the dismissal of two jurors.

The judge said one of the jurors was dismissed because when the state published autopsy photos in the courtroom, she was visibly upset.

Jurors are listening to the state as they describe the events that led to 34-year-old Sarah Nicholson being beaten and stabbed in her Squire Lane home in 2017.
