I don't remember the 7th Chukker, either, C'Moon, but I seem to have bouts of CRS more often than I used to have... I remember that he went to eat at some restaurant (trying to remember that, can't right now) and then went to some bar & can't remember that one either, but I could pick both of 'em off a list. But no Chukker bar at all. Maybe someone else does... but I don't think it was mentioned...

John Goodman's girlfriend Heather Hutchins took the stand Monday claiming Goodman was hurt so badly after the crash she went with him to the emergency room.

"He was dizzy and nauseous. That night at the hotel I had to physically assist him to the restroom because I thought he was going to fall down," Hutchins said.

Thanks! Yeah, I followed the first trial after I learned about the case on HLN. This guy thinks because he's rich, he's above the law. Why didn't his chauffeur drive him that night??? Even if the brakes failed on his car, which I don't buy, his BAC was still 2x over the legal limit hours later!!! And he didn't bother to get help for his victim until an hour later, while he went and drank some more (to get over the his trauma)!!! Can we say self-absorbed?? I think he angers me more than Oscar Pistorius, which is saying alot.

Who is the MOD for this thread? I do not know if it is okay for me to post the above (media Links to where one can watch the trial) everyday.

Went back and saw the pre-sentencing hearing including victim impact statements. Impressions: John Goodman's demeanor at the table...he seems to be on something for sure and lacks appropriate emotions....it is sort of like he was expecting to walk out without consequences just like he always had in life. it did not work out for him. The judge's explanation of his sentence and what he considered and did not consider was excellent...very well thought out and when he said point blank he did not buy JG's testimony at all it was perfect. JG actually left there with less than 4 years mandatory with time served. It is SO SAD that they are having to do this trial again because of some stupid juror...I can only hope it goes the same and wonder if this time the judge can go heavier on the sentence? He should~~

I think the "on again off again" is really on again. Her performance on the stand yesterday was so deceptive...she is protecting him and herself. She has every reason to lie for him $$$$$$$

Agree 100%!! She was evasive at times (!) and when she denied hearing him say, "I really f***ed up," (she said, "I definitely would remember if he had said that," or close) early in her testimony, I knew we were in for half-truths & lies. Duh. (Remember that Lisa Pemberton/Pembleton -- her last name, my CRS again -- the young woman in the trailer quoted him as saying that when he talked to her.)

I certainly can understand her soft-pedaling -- her gander (male goose) and golden egg & all. She tried really hard to make it sound honest, but did the jury buy it? I don't think so -- JMO. She was in a tuff situation, to say the least. She certainly had been with him at other times when he had had 5 too many.... She had to know he was blasted...IMO

ETA: And re the stiffer sentence, this time -- It was stated earlier that the sentence can't be more than 16 years (what he got at the 1st trial) -- I don't know why, and I haven't seen anything here or elsewhere that states why. It could be a Florida Statute, dunno.

Ok moving on...sort of going to revisit the juror issue next week. Trying to decide if he's eligible to be a juror (former convict that may have not done all his paperwork to get all his civil rights back in NY)

FWIW --

I recall thinking when JG was on the stand, that he was medicated and that was the reason for his slow speech and occasional slurring -- a reporter or a tweeter stated during this retrial that he had had a bad stutter when he was young, and that was why his speech was faltering, etc. So, I'll give him that. A friend of mine has the same problem and he, too, sounds medicated or slightly drunk and neither is the case with him.
