Wow. This is getting deep. And Kendra's charges are separate from the Florida incident. Goes back to my question the other day, about their children's safety.
"Police have confirmed that the Duggars’ charges in Arkansas are unrelated to Joseph’s case in Florida. However, TTPD said this separate investigation was launched on the heels of the alleged incident in Florida.

TTPD said this remains an active and ongoing investigation; however, due to minor victims being involved, no further details will be released at this time."

It can be extremely devastating to the adults who hear the report, and they don't want it to be true.

At the cost of further harming the child victim, adults push back on the reporter. They wish it weren't true. And sometimes, the acknowledgement of the abuse being true means turning several lives upside down.

Adult fear of major changes, loss of marriage, change in financial support system for the worse, for those married to an abuser. Huge legal bills for those supporting adult children. loss of esteem in social circles for being in a good marriage, or having raised a good child, or coming from a good family.

I am not making an excuse for adults not believing children; it's their job to protect children even when it's hard. But-it is hard.

Would you expand on this since it left me gobsmacked.

My working hypothesis about the situation has changed quite a bit beyond what I am willing to speculate in writing, but I will point out that even though it seems that Joe Duggar is alleged to have confessed to the CSA in Florida on the telephone call with victim 1's father, we do not know if that is all he confessed to.

IMO the wife wasn’t arrested due to withholding kids from CPS but maybe

I'm saying that it is common for adults to disbelieve child when the children report being victims. And it hurts the victims again to not be believed.

Edited to add: another harmful responses is threatening violence to anyone who SA a child. This scares the child.

It's time Jim Bob and Michelle take a long hard look at themselves and realize they messed up.
They never will. They are insane, IMO.

According to a Friday, March 20, press release from the Tontitown Police Department, both Joseph, 31, and Kendra, 27, are now facing four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor in the second degree, and four counts of false imprisonment in the second degree.

Authorities said arrest warrants have been issued and served for the misdemeanor offenses through District Court.

Googled the false imprisonment (unlawful restraint) of a child and found these potential examples:

Common Examples of Unlawful Restraint of a Child
A non-custodial parent or family member taking a child without permission from the legal guardian.
Locking a child in a room, closet, or car against their will.
An adult preventing a child from leaving a vehicle or a room, often using threats or intimidation.

I do not know the specifics behind the charges for this case. This is just meant to give perspective to possible details. MOO

As someone who grew up with an extended family that had a high-profile, humiliating arrest with a distinctive and rare last name - here to say: I feel for the innocent ones in the close orbit. Brutal.

The Washington County Sheriff’s office arrested Kendra amid an ongoing investigation, per Us Weekly. She was later released after paying a $1470 bond.

A press release from the Tonitown Police Department in Arkansas confirmed that the couple are facing four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, second degree and four counts of false imprisonment, second degree.

Jessa’s (now deleted I believe) statement validated that they know his actions are his actions either by knowledge or personal experience. She didn’t question the truth of what happened - she discussed feelings for the child. She also discussed being there for his wife, which I believe is why it was deleted.

I don’t know much about the family history, I believe she a older and I don’t know if she stayed with family or stepped away.

But this statement felt a bit like vindication. We grieve for this innocent girl. [and imo the girls of our family]
