The cult thing is pretty obvious, I comprehend that. But no one has touched on why Josh and Joseph are attracted to little girls?
Apparently it hasn't just been Josh and Joseph and the others were equally covered up. But.. I do not have to wonder. Jim Bob should be charged. Knowing that your children are doing this and not reporting it even though they repeat these actions.. That is grooming. that is child abuse and neglect. And tbh... for all of them to want to cover it up and make it way smaller than what it is... they learned that somewhere.. Jim Bob probably has done the same things this whole time. And according to my math they still have at least 1 child that is a minor.

On Wednesday, ex-star of reality show “19 Kids and Counting” Josh Duggar is scheduled to appear virtually in federal court as he seeks to overturn his conviction involving child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

A jury found Duggar, 37, guilty in December 2021 on one count of receiving CSAM and one count of possessing CSAM. He is serving a sentence of 12 ½ years at the Federal Correctional Institution in Seagoville, Texas, followed by 20 years of supervised release.

Duggar had been representing himself after the court twice denied requests for appointed counsel. He has since retained Chicago attorney Beau B. Brindley, who previously represented singer R. Kelly in high-profile cases.

In his filing, Duggar argues his trial was unfair and violated his constitutional rights, citing eight alleged grounds of misconduct. He claims evidence was withheld at trial, including witness testimony he says surfaced only after “years of animosity and media attacks,” according to the filing. He also alleges a Department of Justice expert manipulated digital evidence and lied under oath.

Duggar further claims the court’s handling of juvenile records involving the Duggar family harmed his sisters and says TLC and Discovery Communications released statements attributed to him without his consent.

According to the filing, Duggar did not raise these issues during post-conviction proceedings, which were previously denied by state judges, the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court.

  • 'If there's anything I've learned from this, do not trust anyone,' Kendra Duggar told husband Joseph Duggar on a jail call while he was in custody in Arkansas
  • Kendra also said she had put up walls around her before urging her husband to stop 'boarding up the hatches' and speak only to a select number of people
  • Kendra and Joseph are charged with four counts each of endangering the welfare of a child and false imprisonment after a search of their home on March 19
Kendra Duggar and her husband Joseph expressed their love and devotion in jail phone calls, but were careful to avoid discussing the details of their alleged offenses.

The couple also became increasingly careful about the individuals they would share that information with as well.

There were multiple discussions about trust, references to psalms and a song that made mention of things like “enemies” and “arrogant foes” and even at one point a directive by Kendra to her husband that he cut off communication with someone after learning the two had spoken while he was in custody, recordings of the couple's calls obtained by PEOPLE reveal.

Kendra often stressed the need for the couple to be careful, instructing Joseph on one call: "Just stay focused, We got a lot of moving parts right now, lean in to the people you can, and then, you know, don't, don't go outside that circle,"

Not an ounce of remorse for what they have done, or for their victims. Just trying to get out of it so that they don’t have to face responsibility for what they have done.

How long has this been put in for I wonder. Because the timing screams "Josh take the heat off your brother you have already disgraced us" They are all disgusting. You have to be real evil to have literally 0 remorse. There is soo much of a bigger picture here and I really hope they get to the bottom of it

I have followed the goings-on of the Duggars and other large fundie families for many years, mostly on the "Free Jinger" message forum. (The title of the forum is meant to be snarky, but it also has very intelligent and informative discussions there.) Also, I watched the "Shiny Happy People" documentary, and I have listened to podcasts by ex-fundamentalists. The Duggars are followers of Bill Gothard, who is the founder of Institute in Basic Life Principles (IBLP), a very fundamentalist Christian organization. Gothard stepped down some years ago after 34 women accused him of sexual harassment. The Duggars probably believe in the principle of "sin flattening" where all sins are equal in the eyes of their Lord. So a sin committed by a child taking a cookie without permission is equal to an adult man committing an SA sin. Not sure if that works if the sin isn't repented. Of course, there is the problem for them that there are civil laws that don't agree with that!

I listened to a podcast by ex-followers of Gothard. They talked about how being caught for SA may be considered as something to be proud of and worn as a badge of honor because it means that "Satan" considered the abuser's family so godly and righteous that he really wanted to get his hooks into them. I wouldn't be surprised if Jim Bob Duggar thinks that way. If I recall correctly, when Josh Duggar was caught in the Ashley Madison debacle, he gave the excuse that Satan had built a tunnel into his soul. But whoever was handling the Duggars PR at the time strongly advised him to not blame another entity for his misdeeds, so he rescinded the Satan reference.

I think the whole Gothard cult was created to encourage and protect the sexual perversions of the male "church" members. They preach that girls and women are the ones tempting men and therefore the ones directly responsible for assualts against them. Men should not be expected to control their desires. This is why the Duggar girls were forced to wear those long prairie skirts and dresses - during the same time period that their brother was molesting them at home. And why Josh was never actually punished for his crimes against the five girls or why law enforcement and social services were never notified at the time.

These are really bad people. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if Josh and Joe are just the tip of the iceberg with the Duggars.

Probably true. In this culture, woman/girls are seen as the "temptress", used by Satan to tempt men. This has a way of shaming the victims into not revealing any SA. There are some books out there, written by survivors that are truly horrific.

Duggar mentions the court’s decision to recover juvenile records of the Duggar family, which he says caused harm to his sisters.

So Kendra's parents don't get along with JimBob/Michelle?
Was there some kind of competition between in their community?
