I only remember a little bit about that case..was Maddie ever found?

Unfortunately she was found dead - underneath the next door neighbor boy's waterbed. He wasn't suppose to be playing with her, said he accidentally hit her in the head with the bat (they were supposedly playing baseball) & he was scared he would get in trouble, so he placed her under his waterbed. He helped in the search for her, etc... it was his Mom who discovered her body as she was changing the sheets on the bed. Such a sad, sad story.

Woman who saw blue car spoke. CC Sheriff reiterated that the blue car is just one thing they are looking at. Dogs have been brought in and are finishing up a grid search - no searchers will be allowed in until dogs are finished.

The Mother of the little girl in the (alleged) attempted abduction from last week? was on as well as the lady who saw it happen and followed the little girl home. Blue sedan, possibly a Nissan. Possibly a Hispanic female in the car (not sure if the female was driving or in passengers seat).

Contacted 58 RSOs within 3 mile radius. No problems, very cooperative.

House-to-house canvass including under houses if off-grade.

7:30 a.m. extended radius to 5 miles for RSOs.

Don't know there is not a crime yet.

Sheriff said earlier they have tips coming in. Issued an AMBER Alert because it has been too long for a 7 yr old to be hiding on her own...as well as the previous report of attempted abduction. FBI is involved.

Not typical of Somer. She does not run away. She once went to a friend's home without telling parents...gave them a scare.

Fox news said there was a presser in 15 min, that was at about 11:20 EST. I am refreshing foxnews.com for a live stream but so far nothing.

100 Deputies Searching For Missing Girl

More than 100 Clay County deputies and law enforcement personnel from neighboring counties were searching Monday and Tuesday in Orange Park for Somer Renee Thompson.

The second-grader is white, 3-foot-5 and 65 pounds. She had brown hair tied in a pony tail with a red bow and was carrying a purple Hannah Montana backpack and lunch box.

Amber Alert Issued for 7 Year Old Florida Girl

The State of Florida issued the Amber Alert Tuesday (10-20) after the girl was apparently abducted on her way home from school in Orange Park on Monday afternoon (10-19).

Somer Renee Thompson a 7 year old white female, 3' 5" tall weighing 65 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black shirt under a cranberry colored sweat suit with pink stripes running down the arms and legs. She possibly has a red bow in her hair and may have been wearing a white hat and a white scarf.

It's good to see so many people out searching for Somer. If she were hiding out, even at a friend's home, I would think she would have been found by now.
