It's good to see so many people out searching for Somer. If she were hiding out, even at a friend's home, I would think she would have been found by now.

I hope they're banging on doors.

I was thinking the same thing. No way would a child that young stay away from home for so long on her own. I guess stranger things have happened but I really think she would have come home by now.

Lots of children walk to/from school together along that route.

Maybe the officer has seen something like that before. It's an obvious possibility if somebody had their trunk open in a driveway and she climbed in but I think he's probably just doing a little grasping for straws hoping for a non-criminal scenario.

Like "ooops, how did she get in my trunk".

Clay County does not have a scanner link, and there were two boys they had searched for and come to find out they had been right there in the trunk the whole time....I think that was in NY..........

I didn't hear the statement - but when I hear about missing kids - I always think they should check trunks. Ever since that one case where the little boy(s?) had gotten inside the trunk of an old parked car on some property and suffocated I believe. If they had just checked all the trunks right away he could have been saved. They walked right by the car many times and looked in it and around it - but did not check the trunk.

I think I've heard another story like that too.

Maybe they are aware of those cases down there - maybe they even happened nearby?

I May check for those cases if I have time.
