I don't think so either I feel sorry for her. I was just wondering where everyone was coming from?

I don't think mom has a personal hand in what happend. If you read back in the threads you will see what we have said. Sorry my hands hurt and typing the same thing over and over... I can't do it anymore.

i hate to be a brocken record but what about moms lifestyle has people here suspious of her?
I don't think anyone is suspicious of her.I don't think she had anything to do with her daughters death.I don't think she hung around or associated with any one bad at all.I feel she raised her family very well and the police do not think she is a suspect. That's the wrong track to go down.LE said a sexual predator?I don't think it's anyone the family knew.

Heh! Read back...there are lots of people suspicious of her. If not that she was directly involved, that she allowed Somer to be exposed to dangerous people, and that resulted in Somer being killed.
I don't think it was anyone the family knew well. Might have been someone that they had a passing acquiantance with, but not much more.

Your right my DD dad was killed when she was a baby she drew SSI until she was 18. If they quit school or get married before 18 the SSI also stops.

If your unmarried child is still in high school, they receive SS survivor benefits until the age of 19. My daughter had problems after her father died :( and ended up graduating late. She turned 19 in January and graduated in January. She received the benefits up to her 19th birthday.

Your unmarried child will receive benefits until their 18 birthday whether they are in school or not.

Are we really attacking the parents now? I know that it all about the sleuthing, but I just can't stand it when I hear things like, she cried too much, she didn't cry enough, she smiled too easily, Oh, did you hear her laugh?..............and about her being in the attention of the media, raising money to help get the family through all this hell and sending her other children away..........maybe she just doesn't have the emotional strength to give of herself what her other children need right now, could that be? This is all of course JMO.........

Sorry, I don't mean to offend, but I just get a little upset with the "expectations" that are put on a person while they are going through the most tragic thing that will probably ever happen to them........there's just not a book to tell you how to respond and everyone handles themselves differently when faced with tragedy and grief. I personally have experienced a lot of these same accusations and it just beats you down at a time when you need all the strength you can get.

I can't agree with you more on this one, I personally do not believe that either parent has anything at all to do with this, if it turns out later that they do I said it before, I will make a video of me bashing my head on a lamp post and post it on here so...

Don't feel bad, one more parental murder and they might have to Baker Act me, so smashing your head into a light pole is perfectly acceptable here in my world.

I hve a question regarding where the bathrooms were located. ( i'm sure this was covered already but I forget) is there a play ground near those bathrooms? Soccer/baseball fields etc. While at my son's soccer game I was thinking about the people who clean/take care of the fields. I know that the coaches have a key to open bathrooms while our soccer game is going on and then locks up afterwards, were there any games going on at that time? Even if there were none, who has keys to the bathrooms or shed ( if there is one). Anyway, I may be WAY out there but thought I would bring it up.

Somer's mother didn't have anything to do with this. Yes I posted the other day I thought it was weird that she smiled after the "We're coming for you" comment but I don't think she had anything to do with this.

When LE found Somer's body it was partially clothed and they are saying she struggled/put up a fight and to look for anyone with scratches on their body. We have seen Somer's mother and father out in public and they don't have a scratch on them. Also I don't know if any of you watched Nancy Grace the other night but the father was on there & if I remember correctly more or less said they collected fluids from Somer so it was def a MAN that did this to Somer. Aslo Somer's father is in a wheelchair there is no way he did this.

A SO or a first time offender did this to Somer not her parents. I understand this is a sleuthing site but her parents are going through hell right now and its the COMMUNITY not Somer's family that are doing the fundraisers. JMO of course.

ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- Renee Teague and Jeffrey Thomas went to Somer's neighborhood Friday to light candles in Somer's memory. They drove all the way to Orange Park from Baker County to let Somer's family know they care.

"I feel for this family. My heart just aches with them. I've cried many tears for this family, for this little girl," said Teague.

In the neighborhood, investigators continue checking leads.

2,300 tips have come in, but detectives are staying tight lipped.

People say they understand if it means investigators are getting close to finding the child killer.

"I just want them to catch the monster that has done this to this little girl," said Teague.

Until then, people are praying and sticking together in a community that is keeping Somer's memory in their hearts.

I sent Somer's mom a card yestrday all the way from Missouri I just felt compelled to tell her I am sorry bout her little angel. I don't normally feel like doing that the only other person I ever sent one to was Beth Holloway I think cause Natalee was only a year younger than my DD. But this little Sommer has really touched my heart

The mother’s public demeanor is off the way I see it. I know she’s got to be distraught from the loss of her child, but she just seems to enjoy being center stage too much. There’s a lot of crying sounds and sobbing noise, but a lack of tears and way too many odd facial contortions, especially smirks and sneers. Several times I have seen her expressions change like a chameleon from sobbing to actually smiling in an instant. I don’t get it. Plus, when a person really cries and sobs their eyes get really swollen. I know when I have had a bad emotional time and cried my heart out; I barely had slits for eyes. Maybe it’s just me, but if my child had been murdered because I let her walk home from school without an adult present, I don’t know how I could live with myself and I truly doubt I would be making public appearances, I would dig a hole and crawl in it……….

mmmm just wondering if you were to have a seven yr old daughter disappear how would you react? I mean can you say how for sure what you would be saying and how you would be acting in the face of the media? I can't even begin to say how I would act... I am sorry I don't mean to put this in your face, I have been involved with active searches for missing children and adults and I have seen first hand the hurt that is left on the family of the missing person... jmo..

I agree everyone makes different facial expressions when they are talking, I think the smirk was saying she will laugh when he is caught and punished for this atrosity he commited to her little girl.

I don't think this is the case, the siblings. But yes what a awful nightmare. I don't see the youngest kids involved.

I am NOT blaming the 13 y/o who is as large enough to be a 16 y/o, IMO. However, here is a theory.

Mom obviously likes to party, posts this stuff on public sites like myspace (raunchy, IMO), moves from man to man. Remember the 13 y/o is from her 2nd marriage. She has two boyfriends since Sammy (so it has been said on WS) now living with the 3rd. Trust me kids pick up on their parents behavior. Monkey see monkey do. Also, if behavior that is exhibted that in the sexual nature, by nature kids are more intune to be curious by this. Lots of discord, bad relationship with ex-husband (obviously) whether warranted or not that will be remain to be seen. Mom has anger toward ex - obviously - monkey see monkey do. JMO and a theory. Anyway, not going to continue but maybe you catch my drift??? there is ALOT we don't know.

I really hate to write these things. But if we didn't challenge one another we gonna get nowhere.

I, personally apologize to you Ripley because everyone was hard on you when discussing mom way back in the threads... You didn't change my mind but I did change my own my from looking at certain evidence as to how lifestyle could have contributed to this tragedy.

Last, REMEMBER BSU said to look at brain FARTS? Well, I have now picked up on plenty.

You know, I'd sort of not thought of the half-brother, except to say that Somer may have gone over there to borrow his cell phone, or something.
But I dunno. Now I wonder why mom went by the park first thing. . Wondering why she went by to pick him up.
And again-how long has it been since he lived at 'home' and where has he been?
After all the wonderings about Burke (Jon Benet), I don't know why it didn't occur to me, but it didn't.
Catching up, here, slowly but surely. My hubby's taking a nap. No looks :woohoo: at this point in time, anyway.

That is true and hopefully they show integrity after their normal expenses to increase the reward, set-up some kind of foundation or something to that effect. My heart goes out to them.

with all due respect..i disagree - when i get very emotional or very angry my lips turn up in a terrible type of grimace...I dont know if this is an unconcious attempt to swallow some of that anger or just to get myself under control - i dont think she meant it as a laugh or smile in thoughts of retribution...it is hard to understand someone in DT's shoes' facial expressions..i hope i am never there

Her father is ruled out completely b.c the man is in a wheelchair and can't walk & if there was fluids in Somer's body then for obvious reasons that rules out the mother. You just have to look at the facts here.

Have had time to read each and every post today - but something did catch my eye. If this has been addressed please overlook and move on

Regarding Child Support / Disability

Child support stops and disability takes over for the child as well. Each child of the disabled person received a check from social security until they are 18 or until they have finished school (which I believe includes college).

BBM
regarding the bolded statement above - it does NOT go past sr in high school. I know....my DH is disabled and we had 2 boys who collected an amt from ss as stated above. #1 - believe me the amt per month wouldn't cover a 1/3 of a childs expenses every month and #2 - if you turn 18 during your sr year in high school you have to document it and it will continue till the end of the school year. It does not continue for college at all.
