My subconscious must be working overtime. I just took a long relaxing bath and dozed off-came wide awake because I had dreamed that someone in LE was interviewing neighbors, and asking for tips. Someone said, "Check to see if anyone is missing a large kitchen knife".
At the time, I hadn't read about WLK possibly visiting his brother nearby, but neither do I think a knife has been brought up as a possible weapon, or means to get her to go w/him. Sure makes sense, and there would be knives there, or indeed, in every kitchen.
Also-I've wondered about Somer being by the tanks 'with a frown'. Maybe someone called to her, then hid and she couldn't find out who it was. She's sure to be frowning...and if she just stepped off the sidewalk, no one would probably have noticed a thing. especially if she did this often, which it sounds like she did.
In Situational Awareness, technically there are conditions Red, Yellow, Orange, etc. There are, however, people who go around totally oblivious to their surroundings. My husband has a term for these people: "Condition Transparent"- and I think we're all guilty of it.
Test yourself. Next time you're in a store, or in traffic, pass someone and then try to remember everything you can, while you can still look back and check your details. Since I'm one of those people who admittedly doesn't stay in condition yellow, I've had to train myself.
It's the boring, usual, every day things that don't stand out.
