I have always thought that the Haleigh Cummings case and Somer Thompson could be linked -- by sexual offenders.

Putnam County is about 30 miles south of OP, and there is zero there. They (SO) would probably have to come up to OP where there is more work. Straight line up there; no turns to confuse anyone.

I have also heard that SO's LOVE to compare stories, and get together to share experiences.

Last I heard, Donald Lee Sapp was in the Putnam County Jail, and could not have hurt Somer. However, there are many more in the same crowd.

I am really suspicious that a group of them made the 30-mile trek up Hwy 17 to work construction on a regular basis. Haleigh Cummings lived right off of Hwy 17 in Satsuma; Somer Thompson lived right off of Hwy 17 in Orange Park.

What do you think?

ST was not in navy... army I believe

Jax is a NAVY town.... we have three naval bases in a 50 mile radius... this happened rite outside NAS... They always help around here.... its not unusual

That's what I found out!

How does NCIS work with other law enforcement agencies?

NCIS frequently works with other federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, but specializes in crime within or directed against the Department of the Navy.

Im not sayin its not possible, but hwy17 was hwy used before 95... it runs from ga thru fl and prob further north, but i drive it alot...to get off 95... takin 17 from ga to jax is much easier than 95 in traffic... just observations

Right! I have driven it many times also -- long and straight, no problems.

But it is like you said earlier -- when the LE officer you talked with didn't know of the leads you were giving -- I did call this in when Somer was first missing -- Donald Sapp was in prison (I'm getting this from another forum from Palatka) when Somer was hurt, but NOT when Haleigh was. These guys hang together!

The only Kyle I could find who has a connection to the construction company which worked on the burned house is a 19 year old who hopes to go into LE. I never found out if he was the Kyle at the Gano house though.

Thanks, I thought it was established he was the same one, but my brains are mush on what's fact in this case anymore. Sorry, I do know that's how rumors get started! I'm gonna just watch for awhile now!

What is everybody doing? It's awful quiet.

Quick without thinking, post your top 3 suspect candidates (no full names please), let's see how it shakes out.

My top 3 are:
1-WLK
2-Kyle
3-some unidentified person we haven't sleuthed yet (no this isn't cryptic, I just think there's someone out there we don't know about yet)

I hear ya, I have often thought the same thing.
You do know that there is a RSO with the first name Kyle that has been mentioned in the HaLeigh Cumming's case, right? His address is 212 Monroe Ave., which is only a 5 minute walk from the mobile home HaLeigh lived in on Green Lane. Here's his flyer from FDLE. http://offender.fdle.state.fl.us/offender/flyer.do?personId=8989

Oh and while I was looking that up I came across another Kyle. This one is from Jacksonville. http://offender.fdle.state.fl.us/offender/flyer.do?personId=39097

Chickadee - in the case of poor Haleigh -- Donald Lee Sapp was living with Misty's brother -- the one who said he knocked on the door and no answer --

DLS is a SO, and so is Misty's brother, according to Misty who said he raped her.

Putnam County is even more rural than Clay County. I wish LE would look into a possible connection.

As many SO's as that area has I can't say that I would be shocked entirely that they were from there. I still think it's a local boy, but maybe he grew up there?

  • #237
So, Infinity -- you don't feel any connection?

  • #238
Local people often move from Jax/OP to more rural areas, like Middleburg, GCS, etc --
