I think we talked about this already. Does anyone know if there was roadwork or utility work being done directly on Somer's route home? As in one of the streets she walked on was being worked on.
I ask because for a week now, some men are working on some land beside a road I travel down to take my kids to school and pick them up. They aren't actually working on the road but the holes they are digging are very close to the road and their equipment spills over into the road, so they've closed one lane. They start early but always seem to be finishing about the time I pick my kids up from school. It's always the same guys stopping traffic and I laugh thinking they probably know right when to expect me coming through two times a day.
I live in the country so there are no walkers (home from school), and the bus stops at the end of driveways. There are three houses in eyesight of this work, by now I am sure the workers know when the bus stops at each of these three houses.
My point is with this type of extended utility/road work going on, and the same workers there each day, working outside, all of them are more than aware of who travels by when. Well they are if they are paying attention and one were to travel past them with any degree of regularity.
Do we know if any kind of work like this was going on in that neighborhood on that day or the day preceeding? Probably only a local/neighbor would be able to answer this question.
I keep seeing these workers with all the big equipment, and all the holes they dig, and tunnel type things they are using and think it would be easy to hide a child there for a short while.
