Monday... ST was visiting my brother B at my house in NC. he left early evening IIRC I only have free local tv in the house there. Tues morn my daughter in law (W) called and was telling me about a 7yr old missing in OP (not far from where she lives), as we were talking, my aunt beeped in and told me it was ST's daughter. B immediately went to ST's house and stayed with him on and off all day n most the nite Tues. Wed he called me and said he had heard from reporters that a body had been found. He said ST was "losin it" and for me to come over. As I was driving there (not far) W called and said a friend of hers volunteering in the search had told her that the body was found in folkston where the trash from OP was sent. That there werent any other kids missing in the area and that she had a birthmark on her leg. I arrived at ST's house and he was on the porch with B. The place was a circus, reporters everywhere. I hugged ST and asked if the sheriff had called. He said a reporter was trying to find answers on the body for him. He said, ITS NOT HER.. TELL ME ITS NOT HER. I told him to tell the reporters to leave.. that the sheriff would be calling and that W had called me.. that I could tell him whatever the reporter could tell him..
He asked the reporter to leave and I told him about the trash being from OP and no other kids missing. He asked me if she had said anything else and I told him about the birthmark. Only ST, B and I were on the porch. (his reaction is private) LH opened the door and said the sheriff had called and told her the body was found, the trash was from OP and the birthmark. Then she told ST that it is not her. There is not a positive ID yet. He yelled "ITS HER L****! I dont need a positive ID from the Sheriff, shes gone. Thats my babys birthmark and shes gone. Then he turned to me and asked if he could come to my house and get away from the TV, LH, and this circus. B brought him to my house and he stayed there til Thurs morn when his father picked him up. Thats the way I recall that horrible day... LH must have had this interview after we left.
