If they had lied to the family, that would be horrific. And as far as I know, you would not be able to stop an immediate family member from viewing someone at the funeral home, whether it was a request from LE or not. I would want to make sure of things myself if it came to that.
According to Sadnpod, Samuel had asked to see Somer; the funeral home director recommended he not.
I don't know if investigators asked the funeral home director (or whoever Sadnpod talked with) to steer people away or whether it was the funeral director acting alone.
