A reporter calls Kyle-he must have gotten his name somehow. Why would Kyle say that he saw a murdered child at the place where he was working?

Because it's the truth?

so back to my original question-why do they go to the Gano house in the first place?

  • #707
So they are there in the daytime and come back at night and do digging, or do you think this story got their times mixed up?

http://www.firstcoastnews.com/news/mostpopular/news-article.aspx?storyid=147081&provider=top

By the way, the equipment I saw in the daytime video was a front end loader, I think, not a backhoe. Front end loaders don't dig, but I'm not that good on big equipment names.

I think the digging took place Thursday from 1130 pm to 130 am (which would have been Friday, 10/23) and then they came back on Friday.

In the link I quoted, the reporter says "it is another day of intense searching" which made me think it was Friday day time she was talking about.

He may well have seen her- that very day, but hearing the statement from a reporter, I don't take that as evidence.

I'm not trying to validate or disprove Kyle's story- all I'm saying is that his statement is not fact. Possibility- yes. Fact- not to me, not yet.

I don't know why he would say that. Some people like to interject themselves into things- some really just want to help, some like to be close to LE, some like the attention it gets them- I'm not going to speculate on the motive for some guy who might have seen her. Until LE comes out and says Kyle was the last one to see her, it's not fact to me.

Still MOO.

digging in the dark? Now isn't that weird?

It was brought in from the Fire Marshal per the night time report and says fire marshal right on the loader .. My guess is the night they brought it in the reporter just said digging machine. Obviously they didn't know what it was and didn't do their homework first..

so what makes them go to Gano in the first place?

From http://www.firstcoastnews.com/video/#/Somer+Case%3A+Gano+Home+Renovation/49316661001 posted above:

I think this is from Friday 10/23?

Most of work outside; a dozen agents sift through dumpster.

They planned to extend their search on Somer's entire route home.

Is this to correct my math? lol. OK, so according to reports 9-10 agents assigned to the football field area of the dump, and a dozen for the dumpster / house on Gano, leaves around 25 give or take a few, somewhere else. I never saw photos of the guys in white. But, the ones I did see in FBI shirts and jackets look pretty half-hearted in their searches. I think they had to rev it up when the cameras rolled, so it probably ebbed and flowed throughout the day and into the evening. Just about as long as it took to search the other area(s) of interest. Using a big old front-end loader seems like using a bull to clean up a china shop. At any rate, it might be their job to go through all that bunch of junk, but no law says they have to put it all back, by hand.

lol not to correct your math ... I was just typing as I listened. :)

I thought the same thing in watching them. It did not seem like an "intense search" to me.

  • #715
But why do you think they went there in the first place?

Sure GCV is an SO, but there are tons of SO's out there.

I suppose the rest of the agents were out checking the whereabouts and alibis of the RSO's.

My thoughts on the Gano house is due to the "Kyle comment". Each interview I have watched has stated that it is the last known place she was seen alive. I think they took that comment (reliable or not) and have run with it. Just like all of the other sources in this story, It seems that nothing is validated or thoroughly checked IMO
How are our locals not more curious on what is happening here? I swear people are acting like nothing ever happened. I see just as many children unattended as before and it seems like everyone has just blocked this crime out of their minds.

I suppose it would have been remiss of them to not. Especially if someone reported seeing her there.

With all those people walking, why haven't heard whether any of them saw her?

Was because they were minors? Or did nobody else see her other than those who reported doing so (CS daughter of Connie S.; Somer's siblings; and J. who saw her near the propane tanks).

ETA
Even if you discount Kyle statement as true, do you believe CS who saw her near Grove Park and Gano? (which would have been near the Gano house).

I really wonder whether nobody else saw her.

My understanding is that the reporter called Kyle so he had to get the name from some where in order to call him. This indicates to me that LE had the Gano house on their radar screen for some reason.

IIRC Kyle did not call anyone-the reporter called Kyle. The owner was searched-vehicles, etc. Trailer was taken.

LE comes back and does all of these searches. What led them to this house in the first place?

My first instinct is that it is vacant and close to where she was last at.

That's a lot of time and money for no real reason. Aren't all LE strapped to the max? But then there are a lot more resources there than most places have such as the Navy.

So what theories are there?

People go ballistic with the family idea, they don't like the Gano house, so what is there?
