ST had nothing to do with this and we all know that. That's websleuth 101. This happened on DT's watch. A seven year old should be driven to and from school, period. It is not far fetched to charge her with neglect.

I'm gong to try and be a child's voice right now. Dad T. is the father...Somer is half his DNA. When a father fails to pay child support he is telling the child ' I don't think you are important'..not important enough to part with my money. Putting the entire caretaking responsibility on mom is the work of a coward and extremely irresponsible.

Let mom be burdened with it all - how is that not contributing to a life that is unstable and unpredictable for the child? This coddling of dad is beginning to make me sick. I can't think of another thread where a man has been so defended. MHO

The profile fits WLK like a glove and he was still absconded at that time. I wondered if they were trying to locate him in particular in hindsight.

The only official thing released is the profile and that makes me think LE probably don't think it is family or friend:

http://74.125.93.132/search?q=cache:eayDeRQRZ6kJ:jacksonville.com/community/my_clay_sun/2009-10-29/story/somer_thompson_case_profile_of_a_possible_suspect+somer+thompson+profile&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&client=firefox-a

Missing a routine engagement or work the night Somer disappeared, change in appearance, unexplained injuries and probably no longer operating their work vehicle...point toward an unknown assailant. Obviously the focus of the investigation could have shifted in the month since the profile was released but this is still the only official statement by LE on a possible perp.

Would someone kindly tell me if the athletic center is called orange park athletic center or? I can not find an address. TIA

  • #285
They probably know who did it. It's someone connected to DT. I wonder if they are still at her house keeping an eye on PC.

I have been wondering like in the KC case where the phones were tapped.
Listening inside DT home and who calls who etc.

I hope people dont take out there frustrations on the opinions I express on to other people here looking for answers. Everytime someone bring up DT they are ran off the board for not having the same opinion. Some people seem to take DT side for more personal reasons rather then factual reasons ie a she's mother ,similar lifestyle whatever the reason you can relate to her. We can look at all the people as far as i'm conserned including ST , cross gaurds and the Ice cream. But some comments are just rude in there presentation.

I don't see how anyone can say Sam T. had nothing to do with this. He is the father of 3 of the children ..... maybe if he had helped more and paid some sort of support that would of helped with after school care.. Is he just to get a free ride here?

No Free Rides.. He was the other half to Somer.. She had 2 parents.. maybe one just gave up on her.. Now that is a terrible fault and thought..

I have seen this before .. Father's have had the children and still the mother gets the worse end of deal..

You can give a woman or man for that matter all the money in the world but you can't give them common sense. ST wasn't part of the kids life because of PC. PC controlled everything. DT had the house from her parents and didn't allow ST to visit etc. She told LE that he wasn't allowed in her home. She excluded him form the obituary and the lives of the kids. How can he take care of kids when she moved away with her lovers? I think it happened while he was at war. Those there have to stay for a long time. I'm sure she got the money all those years he was away.
BTW, if she needed money why didn't she just ask PC for it. He was living there. If you have to blame anyone for everything it's PC. He's a monster. His ms page says single so he isn't even acknowledging DT.

It has been stated by media that AC attends OPJH. As far as I know, there has not been any confirmation as to why SC, principal of LCS is on the MPR. I'll try to find it again because I can't even clue you into what thread it would be in and I have to organize the posts I have saved into something searchable.

Here is the post with the link to the sheriff watching over the Thompson family.

I think ST was driven away by PC and whatever drugs he brought in. If a woman or man for that matter, finds someone domineering and possessive, the money never goes to the kids anyway. I'm concerned that she didn't get a divorce where ST would be forced to pay. I'm thinking he was paying all along up until the last 2 years when PC came into the picture. Do we know he didn't pay?

BTW, it's according to salary and we don't know if ST worked. It's a complicated thing. I think he has PTSD from war and now the car accident.

I have always wondered why SC principal was on the MPR just as I have always wondered if AC lived with GP's prior to Somer's murder. Something just doesn't seem right to me.

I have a point about St, and no its not in his "defense". Just a thought. He was at my house the day Somer was missing (19th). He has told me that LE has not requested his DNA, nor have they investigated his whereabouts, except I guess they could have questioned LH. My point is that he was at my house and no one has asked to verify that with me or my brother. So, do you think this could possibly mean they do know who the perp is? I remember thinking it odd that no one verified his "alibi". Any thoughts?

Is this your home in FL, or NC?

The profile fits WLK like a glove and he was still absconded at that time. I wondered if they were trying to locate him in particular in hindsight.

I agree sad, WLK could very well be the murderer. His designation is a sexual predator, meaning he is considered a high risk of re-offending.

The reason I have a hard time believing Somer's killer is a sex offender, is because, according to the news reports, when her body was recovered she seems to have been fully clothed, since her clothing description was one of the initial identifying factors, including the birthmark on her leg. Also, when they first discovered her remains, LE couldn't make a statement regarding male or female child - they had to wait on the ME to arrive to make that determination so as not disturb any possible evidence on her clothing or body (the ME being the one who would have removed her clothing to determine male or female, I'm assuming).

I can't picture a sex offender sexually assaulting her, killing her, and then putting her clothes back on afterward, and then placing her in the trash. IMO, if she had been sexually assaulted, her body would have more than likely been placed in the trash without clothing, since most deceased victims of sexual assault are found unclothed. In addition, if WLK had sexually assaulted her and killed her, since he is now in custody, a DNA sample would have been collected from him (if they didn't already have it on file) and could have been matched to any DNA that would have been found on the victim as a result of a sexual assault.

Just so everyone knows why I lean away from a sex offender.

Even if you don't work you still have to pay child support. I remember one article that said he got hurt falling out of a truck in Iraq. Anybody know anything else on that?

Hmm on the police report it did not say he was a resident either like it did for DT.. great point

You mean like the indoor tree that showed up in Tara McDonald's yard in the middle of the night? I still think that plant was a plant.

(paying attention human?)

I think there are abandonment laws. If the wife leaves, she gets nothing. Now if she takes the kids without his permission out of state that too means nothing for them, unfortunately. She did a lot of things wrong.

I find that very hard to believe.

It shouldn't be hard to find him. There must be some yearbook of Orange Park HS students if in fact he goes there.

Here are some photos from their sports gallery.

http://www.clay.k12.fl.us/oph/photo_gallery.htm

If you look at the baseball team from a few years back, you find some very familiar last names: http://www.eteamz.com/OPHSRaiders/news/index.cfm?cat=404758

Whether there's any connection to the case? Who knows. Might be someone who looks similar to young man in video, could have had a reason to be in the neighborhood or at the park that day, could have a younger sibling who was a friend of the victim.
