If there was a guy and a girl involved then I think they have a better chance of finding out what happened. People breakup move on and stuff comes out.

I don't see any similarities between this and Haleighs case.

I really think it was someone on that path home and I have a feeling she took a shortcut.

Why do you think she was killed? Thrill, saw something, what?

If it isn't RSO, what is it?

When I look at this case, I ask myself over & over again: who can be placed in the immediate vicinity of the victim, according to the MPR & accurate media reports (what an oxymoron, huh?) as well as statements made by LE, within the general time frame in which she was considered missing (either immediately before, during, or immediately afterward)?

LE has stated they have questioned and cleared RSO's in a five mile radius and the Sheriff himself stated he did not feel there were any suspects in that group (and I believe he said "at this time", i.e. when he made that statement). If the status of that has changed, IDK, because CCSO isn't saying.

IIRC, didn't someone post on here that the Gano house workers were not only questioned by LE, but their vehicles were searched, etc? Do I have that info correct? If not, please correct me.

For me, it all boils down to who was in the vicinity at that time. Who was witnessed, who admitted to being there, etc.

The following list is not in any particular order of importance, or suspicion.

1. DT
2. ST, AT
3. CS
4. CPC
5. Gano house worker(s)
6. Detective Coan, or Coyne, whichever is correct on the MPR, since his name is spelled differently on the same MPR, maybe a typo, but I believe his badge ID is #6512.
7. crossing guards
8. miscellaneous kids walking home from school
9. AB
10. AC
Have I included everyone?

If not, feel free to add to the list of people who have been reported & verified to have been in the immediate vicinity at the time of Somer's disappearance.

ETA: Wanted to add the little boy who saw her by the tanks with a "frown" - what are his initials?

SP, SC, the mysterious CWG and unaccounted for (if not him, it was someone)

  • #484
neighbors, any workers in the neighborhood.

  • #485
What about the family that somer got into the argument with?

  • #486
The woman who drove Somer to school, but didn't drive her home from school. Her initials escape me right now.

anyone involved in an activity over at OPAA.

(were you looking for only named people? if so disregard this one)

Lets not forget I saw a news video that the superintendent saw her running too. Thats what the news person said anyway. They didn't show him or nor did hear him say it.

i keep going back to not only who would be there around that time, but also who belonged there at that time, who wouldn't stand out.

Whoever did this blended in with everything that was going on at the time. So much so that no one saw how/when/where Somer vanished.

I would look to the socks for clues, blue socks doesnt go with cranberry and a red bow and the sheriff asking to look for shoes is a mystery

Hmmmmm, missing shoes......

Makes me think she took them off when she went inside.

That much is believable no?

The reason I ask is because this is who we have to work with.

Anyone else & everyone else is pure speculation, since LE hasn't and isn't releasing any info.

It's a shot in the dark. Like the Pink Panther flick.

But then again, as I said in a previous post, my forte is stumbling in the dark.

In fact, when on a camping trip and others are reaching for their flashlights, I prefer to let my eyes adjust and trust my feet to guide me.

The search literally hit home for schools Superintendent Ben Wortham, who lives about 100 yards from the Gano Drive spot where Somer was last seen. About 2 a.m. Tuesday, his house and many others in the vicinity were “searched from top to bottom,” Wortham said.

I have not seen the video or read the news report of the Sheriff advising the community to look for shoes. How did I miss that?!

If anyone is so inclined, would you be so kind as to direct me to that video/news report?

Here ya go.. I did think it odd about the shoes cause you would think she would be in her shoes.

Early Tuesday, Beseler asked residents in the Grove Park area to look through their yards, parked cars and adjacent properties. He asked if you see anything unusual, including a backpack, clothing or shoes, to not pick them up, but call the sheriff's office at 904-264-6512 or call 911.

I want to go on record as saying I don't believe, nor do I mean to imply, that any particular person listed in my earlier post regarding the list of who was in the vicinity at the time of the victim's disappearance is in any way responsible for the murder. I was merely attempting to construct a verifiable, comprehensible list of people who were in the immediate vicinity at the time.

I believe the victim's killer is an adult, and I believe the killer was known in some capacity by the victim.

And I also believe the killer can be verified, according to evidence available to LE, as having been in the immediate vicinity of the victim at the time she was reported to have been missing.

I would also like to add that I think it's completely ridiculous (not to mention unnecessary) that I should feel the need to "go on record" and CMA (cover my a$$) in terms of who was in the vicinity of Somer's last known location, and whether or not I personally believe any one of them may be involved in her murder.

Nevertheless, that is how I currently feel, to the detriment of the discussion of who the killer might be, according to circumstantial evidence in terms of the MPR and witness and LE statements regarding who was in the vicinity of the murder victim at the time she went missing. And yes, I chose the word "circumstantial" on purpose, because that's all any of us has to go on - "circumstantial" evidence.

According to recent moderator response (at the request of members on this thread), posts are allowed if initials are used to protect the identity of those not yet named by LE. I have tried to be careful to follow those instructed guidelines, and have also tried to be respectful to various viewpoints in the hope of gaining new insight and knowledge. Please forgive me if I have not been so.

I would respectfully ask that, in return, other viewpoints that might not necessarily be agreeable be treated with the same respect & courtesy as posts made in terms of other circumstantial suspects.

It is also my belief that someone who knows who might be responsible for the death of Somer Thompson is and has been lurking, if not posting, on these threads.

These are all just my opinions.

But I am not afraid to express them.

And I respect anyone who disagrees with them.
