Earlier someone posted that they thought Coan and Coyne on the MPR were one and the same but they are not.

A. Coan is Badge 05066 (officer Diena flagged down)
S. M. Coyne is Badge 06512 (assisted with investigation)

And so we have them in one place:

H. G. Pittman is Badge 06550
K. E. West is Badge 06113 (assisted with investigation)
C. D. Hickey is Badge 06919 (Reporting Officer)
____ Osteen is Badge 06627 (NCIC Operator who entered Somer into NCIC as missing)

I meant to respond to it and had to shut down unexpectedly and totally forgot until now.

I looked this last name up on the Clay County Clerk web site, I know this sounds silly but I can't remember why. ANYBODY?????

I searched for this name (Mc_ _ _ _ _ _) in the Somer threads and came up empty except for the posts talking about it now. I didn't see it on the MPR and didn't find it in my notes.

A link could have been provided and code used for the name, and that's why it is not coming up in the search of Somer threads.

There are multiple RSOs with the last name, although not in OP that I saw.

Without a first name, I can't search the court records in Clay County unless I try letter-by-letter. LOL and I don't want to.

Doesn't it make sense that they searched the Gano house (vacant) after finding Somer?

They returned to the last place anyone had seen her (CS, Kyle, Superintendent Ben W., J., the boy who was riding his bike and saw her near propane tanks) and went from there.

I can't imagine LE not searching the vacant house since they had searched area houses for Somer (search for quote by Ben W. if you need confirmation).

I don't remember who it was here (WS) that first pointed out that if they didn't search the vacant house they would not have been doing their job very well. But I thanked them (or maybe I just nodded vigorously) and agreed.

Small correction.. They said Superintendent only and no name was given on the video or by the reporter

I wasn't talking about the video. I had this article in mind when I posted. Shouldn't have been so lazy. ETA: Can we put two and two together and make the assumption that if a superintendent saw Somer running near propane tanks and this superintendent lives 100 yards from the spot where she was seen, that it was him? (That's what I did but I shouldn't have made the jump without an explanation.)

The search literally hit home for schools Superintendent Ben Wortham, who lives about 100 yards from the Gano Drive spot where Somer was last seen. About 2 a.m. Tuesday, his house and many others in the vicinity were “searched from top to bottom,” Wortham said.

I've been going over the MPR again. Is it just me, or does it seem as if almost all of page 4 has been redacted? I have often thought that as I've looked at it.

I know nothing about the Tori Stafford case, and I don't want to read about it because this is more than enough for me.

Does anyone know why they killed the child? How were they caught? The perps lived several blocks away? Did they know the child? What was their malfunction in life? Any red flags about them? Any people come forward and say they weren't surprised? That kind of thing?

I can see if Somer was crabby (although according to Kyle, she seems to have gotten over it). But Somer seems like she was a little spitfire. Maybe someone said something to her, and she responded in an unacceptable way to the person who isn't quite playing with a full deck and "Wham!"

It wouldn't even have to be something that would appear out of line to an average person. But someone who is stressed and has very low self esteem and maybe just had a really bad day might have lost it when she said----Who knows what?

I know people that take offense at the most minor of things that would never be considered even noteworthy. If they are on a hair trigger for whatever reason, they lash out.

Human, my very brief study of the Stafford case led me to believe (from the newsies) that the mother thought she recognized the composite sketch of the female suspect and suggested LE investigate that woman. Police then arrested the woman pointed out by the mother, as well as the woman's bf. The woman confessed, don't know about the boyfriend - both are charged with murder. I suspect, but its not clearly stated, that this one of those couple rape/murder things, where possibly the woman is going along with what her bf wants because she doesn't want to "lose" him (not that this makes her participation any less horrifying and odious). Both are charged with murder, the woman will prob get some type of deal in return for her testimony (although I would thinkthat may be less certain now that LE has actual remains). I don't think a cod has been released. Their major malfunction? Dominant male (apparent sex offender) plus submissive female partner who thinks its worse to lose a man than to kill a child.

Tori's mother says she met the woman once when she went to the apartment of the woman's mother to talk about dog breeding. She said the woman was so high that she didn't think the woman would have remembered her. She doesn't think the woman targeted her child. She denies rumors that she bought drugs from the woman in the past.

Interestingly, the woman was unable to lead police to any remains, although remains were found two months later.

I don't think this at all. We know nothing about what LE may or may not have. LE knows the COD, that is evidence. We don't know anything about this case at all. All we know is Somer was found dead at the dump.

I don't think this perp was as careful as some may think, but that is jmo.
The failure of LE to notify the public of any evidence found shouldn't lead us to believe no evidence was found.
The body was found quickly and I think Somer will speak through evidence found with her.
I also think a good tip lead LE to follow the trucks, not good detective work.

Can you tell I have a lot of thoughts, lol. Sure wish they'd take me somewhere.

I do remember that at one point soon after the remains were found, LE said (and this is definitely paraphrasing) - we were sharing information because the most important thing at the time was to find Somer, but now we are really going to be playing it close to the vest with our information as we investigate her death/build a case, etc. Or words to that effect.

RSBM..
If the construction workers noticed the house was being used as a party spot or noticed anyone had been in there besides them, why didn't they notify the police about it?

I have to wonder the same thing. And I keep wondering if the reason they didn' notify LE is because they knew it was one or more of their own (or perhaps former workers) who was partying at the house.

Sharethelight, If it is any comfort to you, If you can find the video's from the Gano ave. burnt house search and watch them dig through the big dumpster you will see they know what they are looking for... It looked to me like they were putting a puzzle together and looking for the right pieces..

It just takes time for all tests to come back.. I have been thinking about that puzzle they were trying to put together since the search..

The pieces they were digging for were flat wood sheets, and some sort of edging.. like trim either wood or metal.. my eyes are not great and I tried and tried to watch over and over but needed a bigger video ...

Please, just have patience and Justice will come.. They have fresh evidence in Somer's case and that helps a lot... Just labs take longer sometimes. Some from Little Caylee's case took months...

Yeah once they started working on the inside of that house they would have kept it locked up tight.

Terri-Lynn the 18 yr. old girl abductor lived only about 2 blocks away. It has been suggested Mom &/or b/f bought drugs from the girl's Mom. Tori's Mom said, it was a brief couple of meetings to breed their dogs. The b/f was spotted at their place on a number of occasions. It hasn't been establish Tori knew this girl, but perhaps had gotten to know recognize her walking her dog or something of that nature. Terri-Lynn had a horrible upbringing, Mom was a stripper, she was allegedly sexually abused and on drugs as was her mother. Michael Rafferty (28 yrs. old) lived further away. Not much is known about his background, went job to job, was extremely clingy with girlfriends, but not abusive (that I remember). It hasn't been established as fact they were a couple (he had an official g/f), but IMO she wanted him & perhaps thought they were. He didn't have a criminal record.

I don't believe it has been release how she was murdered. They did go to a car wash right after she was murdered. The girl claims she walked away while he assaulted little Tori. Normally Tori walked home with her brother, but that day he walked a boy home that had a disability in another direction. There is video of the girl walked with Tori towards home, video ends... Allegedly she and Tori get into the car with the MR and she was murdered within hours of her disappearance. A tip by a neighbor was phoned in and to make a long story short, the girl was initially arrested for a minor breech, while she was in jail, she agreed to help police find the body and a short time later MR was arrested. He is pleading "not guilty" the last I heard. Another eary smiliarity is Tori was a spit-fire too. Paris or Kamille please correct me if I have something wrong.

Sorry I didnt word that right. My real question was.. Does LE HAVE to investigate EVERY tip?

I think the word investigate may be slightly misleading. There are some tips with so little viability that the "investigation" may just be a matter of immediately ruling the tip unviable. Like - "the CIA implanted the knowledge into my head that she was picked up in a spaceship that transported her body into the garbage truck in a plasma stream. I wasn't wearing my aluminum helmet and I couldn't stop them"

I mean... Not much you can do with a tip of that nature (although even with tips from crazy people, LE usually does try to ensure that the person really HASN'T been a witness - or perpetrator for that matter - to something criminal and just interpreted it in a crazy manner).* Typically tips are sorted into kind of an order where tips that seem to have the most promise are investigated first. It's not as though something considered a "hot" lead would be ignored until the 2000 tips in front of it are investigated.

*Which makes me wonder - I think someone said something about possible homeless people out and about in that neighborhood? Way back in another thread? If that's true, LE would want to try to see if any of them saw anything.

Thanks MommaD. I've seen the video but didn't notice they were looking for/pulling out certain *like* items. That gives me even greater hope.
I am confident they have evidence. Let's hope it shouts out the perp's name.

I have no idea where this idea came from but it is really strange.

http://news.puggal.com/somer-thompson-cause-of-death-0414/

A vacant house is also under investigation near Somer’s house. Investigators are thinking on a point that it might happen that the kidnappers stayed there for three days and after that they killed her and threw on garbage landfill.

This is the first time I have seen this and I swear I feel like I have searched Somer's name front to back.
I agree that it does not appear to be an actual journalist, etc.
The comments below the story are interesting (as always).
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for that MommaD - that is very encouraging.

If anyone has the video link, I'd love to watch it again. I'll try to find it.

I was wondering if we know for sure that she was molested?Where is the link? if anyone has it, please guide me.
I liked the shirts that say" It must end with Somer"

They haven't released the cod and/or whether or not she was sexually assaulted, but I'd say that sexual assault of some type is unfortunately pretty much a given in this scenario. It wasn't a kidnapping for ransom, and they were still looking at adult male SO's after they found her - which would lead me to believe that they know she was assaulted.
