On the post concerning the "Rumor" article from Jax.com, the officer's name was E., correct? Was the list of officers from the last thread all the ones who answered the call in your post, Noway? His name is not listed among them. Does anyone remember the time of that arrest? Just curious. That was so strange. It was briefly touched on last thread and I apolgize to whoever it was who mentioned this, or I would give credit here. I thought it was a good point. I was reading to catch up and didn't make a note of it.

Yep, but from my reading of it Sam called the Sheriff and found out no cop made that call so it was someone pretending to be a cop and they knew it was her and identified by the birthmark before it was ever released. This person knew too much before it was released.

ST or whatever house that came from-LH?s. Should ask LE to get the phone records and find out where that call came from.

The guy with the BIL name is a strange thing!

I'm thinking about that blue Nissan incident. Maybe LE was watching something in the neighborhood. That's why they had unmarked LE. Mayb Somer stumbled into whatever LE was watching.

I don't think she drowned. Posters here said the COD would be obvious to LE to identify it as a homicide so quickly. If there was a drowning, I think I would be looking at a swimming pool before I'd be digging for a cistern.

I agree. I guess it's the last part that I am troubled by. It makes it seem that when they called to verify, he was told it was FALSE. Only to be told later officially it was true!

As to the other, not necessarily. I remember reading comments from people who supposedly had relatives with LE who were saying the same thing back then or had them who worked for the landfill. It was so widely reported between 3pm and 9pm in "rumors" on the web that it made me wonder why nothing else has leaked but that did. I have had my own theories about that, too. I thought maybe they found her much earlier than was reported anyway.

I don't want to take us too off track b/c I think this bil needs looking into.

Here's my thought. We've speculated that the lack of info from LE could be b/c perp is a juvenile, or in LE. We found some LE houses along Somer's route home. And said she would be comfortable riding with LE, and LE would not look out of place in the neighborhood.

What if the Nissan incident was a legit attempted abduction. AND what if it is also true that it was an officer who was driving the car.

The announcement was made about misunderstanding with blue nissan, after Somer was found, I think, at least this article was. It probably doesn't make a difference(the timing) anyway
But what if things pointed to a certain oficer, so LE finds out an officer was in that car that day, and now Somer's case is pointing to them also then LE comes out with the statement that it was a misunderstanding disregard, blah blah blah. They could have also made this statment to put the officer at ease, if he said it was a mix up or something, they are supporting their guy.

All the while, they've got their guy but don't want the public to know especially since nothing was ever put out to the public about the first attempt abduction until after Somer went missing.

Just some thoughts.

Good question - I can't remember the officer's name, but the 4 armed robbers were arrested on 10/21. The way the Sheriff explained it away made it sound like it happened on the night Somer went missing, and one of the responding officers at the house left to answer that call.

I'll see if I can find the link to the article.

The officers I listed were the ones on the missing person report. IMO there were more because the one who arrested the four burglars and accidently left the Thompson house address on the report was MW Edmonson and he was not on the MPR.

If you click on Clay Daily in my signature and change the date to 10/21 you will find the entry.

Here is a quote from the "rumor" article.

BBM

In the Clay County case, a mistake on a police report set off one wave of suspicion.

The day Somer disappeared, a deputy who was among those who responded to the missing girl’s home was called away to an unrelated armed robbery. He arrived at the second scene and caught four suspects, Beseler said. When the officer wrote the report, he forgot to change the address on the call, resulting in armed robbery arrests mistakenly tied to the Thompson home.

The robbers were arrested on 10/21. So the explanation doesn't make sense.

ITA!

ETA: Either the Sheriff isn't paying attention in the morning briefings, or there is a case of serious dis-info going on.

I may be way out in left field here, but could this be the same guy from the video thought to be the BIL? (DF's husband) Is the shirt he's wearing in the video a Philadelphia Eagles shirt? (I'm seriously sports challenged.) But the hairline looks similar, and the little earring . . .guy on top left.

http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/story?section=news/crime&id=7135400

Checking that out. Just noticed he is in picture number 3 too.

Good theory!

and by this time the FBI and Marshals were involved. They are not going to let this just slip by.

D & F B intelius says Kileen, TX

If this man (with scratch at neck, yellow shirt) we're talking about is the BIL and they do live in TX, how likely is it that he was in Florida when Somer disappeared? And wouldn't LE have noted that and checked out any kind of alibi he might have (business, family)?

I am confused ... about the DF Jr. in http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/story?section=news/crime&id=7135400 ... is he related to DT's other sister or do you think he is related to man with scratch who we think is man with yellow shirt who we think is Forest?

Because I think you are comparing him to the BIL but he has the same last name as DT's other sister.

Dr. Fessel, I have heard others express this same sentiment, and am always mystified. This information was true. Hopefully, it was given in a tactful manner. It is not as if someone called him and said your daughter was murdered and treated so callously, but she was later found alive. Now that would be cruel.

Houndstooth and dr. fessel this is post that might explain what you are talking about .. and everyone else that missed that day... here it explains about that call to sam that about gave him heart attack..

i hope I have done this right.. first time doing it..
