Me to. Whoever is responsible, we all want them off the street and to face justice for what they have done. It concerns me that it has been so long. I really hope they do have a solid suspect/suspects and are closing in on them.

It was a year before she was investigated.Then no more calls.It had NO BASIS.Which shows me there was no case.The case was closed as unfounded.That does not make her look bad.It shows me nothing was there.If there are too many calls and they find them unfounded.They are false allegations and people can get in alot of trouble for making false allegations.

I finally get it now. What you are saying is that the running away, man in woods is all fake.

I'm saying they said it had no basis.I do not think it is an inside job.I do not know if there was sexual assault on Somer or not and we do not really know alot facts on Somers case so I'm not really sure which way to go with this.If there was not sexual assault on little Somer.I would go with one of the two girls she got in a fight with at school(family and friends connected to them)Perferably the little girl she fought with on the way home.I'm very curious of the lady who said to check the dumpster at the Gano house also.


My main suspects are Kyle and the crew members of the house on Gano and who they knew.I feel the house on Gano was the crime scene or what ever happened to Somer started there.

They are keeping Somer's mother updated through her lawyer, according to the interview during which DT and her Lawyer were present. Significantly, there have been no more media interviews since she "lawyered up".

It did not seem that Freed was on hand for the tete a` tete with the Times Union reporter last week.

I am in a family of teachers. When there is an incident or incidents the teachers call the parents. If there is more than one incident, guidance (social worker) and/or principal is involved. If there has been previous activity regarding DCFS or anything questionable (such as the child known to be running away from siblings who are supervising her at such a young age) it is HIGHLY LIKELY that teacher/social worker would be on it and PROBABLY would contact DCFS AGAIN because it is a MANDATED REQUIREMENT THAT THEY REPORT ANY SUSPICIONS OF ABUSE OR NEGLECT NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES THEY HAVE TO DO IT.

If you can't see it any other way, then since so many of you want to blame the school system, call it C.Y.A. Because if there is a history of investigation and the school DOES NOT FOLLOW UP ON SUSPICIONS and document it, it will be THEIR ASS that gets blamed. NOT MOMMY.

It would be nice to have a copy of the student handbook for Somer's school. Perhaps her school did not have such a policy.

I know at the schools my children attended, that the policies and procedures are spelled out. If a child was aggressive towards others, it is spelled out what happens. If a child goes to a detention room because of aggressive behavior, the parents are called.

Somer gets in an argument/fight, whatever you want to call it at school. DCF would not be involved, they only investigate abuse or neglect. Saying, well this child is getting in arguments, and maybe there is something going on at home is not enough it investigate. Now, maybe Somer said something else to them to cause them concern, but at this point that is all speculation and rumor. If DT got a call at work about this fight, IMO she would have no reason to worry. I am working from the assumption of what we have reported, which is Somer got in an argument at school, sister confronted her about it in some way, and she ran ahead.

Now, I could very well see DT getting worried because she got a call from the siblings saying she ran off and didn't return home with them. I could see her thinking, well this time it's true, better get someone there to say they were watching the kids. IMO, this isn't what happened but I see the reasoning. Maybe worried the kids would go to school the next day and talk about what happened and another report would be made. BUT, the school wouldn't even know about Somer running off until the next day, so what sense would it make to get SP there right then? By this point, the siblings would have already come home to an empty house, and DT would have to get them to lie to say SP was there when they got home. So why have him come at all, if you are going to have them lie anyway?

Above link gives information on the reporting of abuse in Florida. I couldn't find anything specifically from the Department of Education. It gives criteria for the hotline accepting a report which is:

A. The Florida Abuse Hotline will accept a report when:
1. There is reasonable cause to suspect that a child
2. who can be located in Florida, or is temporarily out of the state but is expected to return in the immediate future,
3 has been harmed or is believed to be threatened with harm
4. from a person responsible for the care of the child.

A fight at school does not meet this criteria, unless there was more going on that would give them a reason to call on that day.

I think what Human suggested is reasonable. Are you thinking that what students are told are the guidelines would be at variance with the Big Book of rules and procedures?

I was reading the article about DT and her "Godsend Lawyer".
Does she not understand that every time she puts her face out there and opens her mouth....she really is only making it worse for herself? She isn't gaining any fans, her public image is not getting any better....she is tarnished, and would be better off going into hiding and staying OUT of the public eye!

Somer is gone, there is nothing that will bring her back, although, she will NOT be forgotten.

Let it be, and take care of the kids who need you even more NOW, than they did before this ever happened.

I don't think she looks bad at all and I don't think LE thinks she does either.I heard a few people make comments I feel that are very cruel and sick and inappropiate at this time period of what happened to her little girl.I think it's sad and wrong.She is trying to find out who killed her little girl.I respect her and I think LE does too.Maybe people can help find out what happened to somer.All the bickering,bashing and name calling is doing nothing to find out what happened to little Somer.I pray an arrest comes very soon so all this can end and people can put the blame on the real person.The killer who killed little Somer.He/she(The killer) caused alot pain to alot of people.They don't like child killers in prison.I don't feel sorry for the person who killed somer.

I have to believe LE knows a lot more than they are sharing. I beleive they pretty much know who did this and are waiting for the last bit of evidence to come in. That's why they are so tight lipped about it and why they are not still screaming from the roof tops that a child killer is out there on the lose. IMO they are watching this person.

Could the reason they are so waiting for every bit of evidence they can get be the Sunshine Law???? If they charge someone now, wouldn't all their invesigative work be turned over and become public knowledge? Maybe they are not ready for that yet.

IMO there has to be a reason they are so tight lipped.

Well since you ask - I believe it was an "It" or a few "ITS" However, we are not allowed to discuss minors as it is against TOS -- I know for a FACT they are being looked into because a few of us has worked VERY hard over the past few weeks and were on the phone with LE more than a few times this week --
In meantime, since this subject is off limits and IMO, there is not an adult "IT" to discuss beside DT and her negligent irresponsible parenting- I am going to continue to discuss DT negligence in light of the report that was deemed "unfounded" by a government agency that is overloaded and bogged down - that does not have the resources to babysit these parents 24 hours a day to make sure every T is crossed and every I is dotted -- Which obviously, DT were not crossed or dotted --

The new comments on the news sites - DT friend sticking up for her? :sick: ONLY reinforces everything some of us are observing - it's called the final nail in the coffin - no pun intended - only the people in the WRONG can make themselves look ever more negligent without having to try.

It seems from the above, that you have been given specific information from LE, information that is not being released to the media/public, but they have released the info over the phone to you? Is this correct? I understand we are not allowed to sleuth minors. If a minor/minors are charged in regards to this case, are we then allowed to discuss them? I will be somewhat surprised that if there is more then 1 minor involved, it has taken them this long to make any arrest, You would just think that for one, they would leave an awful lot of evidence behind, being young and hopefully not expeirienced in the crime of murder, also that someone would of talked by now, teenagers being so gossipy and all. Or they could be very dark minors and it could have been carefully thought out and premeditated, anything is possible, nothing much surprises me, ex. the minor who killed her friends little sister because she wanted to see how it felt. (sorry the names are not on the tip of my head right now)

Or, sorry i just reread your post again, and maybe I am taking it the wrong way Maybe you mean that you and others have made suggestions to LE regarding the minor/ minors you are speaking of. Let me know either way when you are back on NSC, if you don't mind, thanks.

It seems that some people here work at a school district...anybody know the name of the Big Book?

I am an educator and know that each school has their own discipline policy. The state leaves that up to the LEA to decide because each school has their own issues they would have to address. Unless there is something really strange with Florida law, I think it is safe to assume that each school in FL has their own policy. (for what it's worth)
