Kimberly perhaps you could supply the link that the sheriff stated that? TIA

I think she already said it's a RUMOR

I've stated several times if I remember

Take it how you want to

I have tried Sadnpod & I couldn't find anyother cases. I know in that last article it was implied he is an advocate for victims, but I couldn't find any connections or affiliations with groups...no luck on my end. Maybe some others could check??? I just couldn't find a link.

Maybe Mr Freed wife is an advocate for victims?

found it... Trying to figure out how to copy link on this phone

  • #306
The sherrif said he talked to Freed and asked him to help her if he could.

Snipped from above article....

but Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler recommended Jacksonville attorney Mike Freed, who is active in the effort to stop human trafficking and protecting the rights of children victimized by this act. Thompson had one less thing to worry about when Freed pledged his services free of charge.

I thought it said why in the article.....

Snipped:

Thompson wasn’t familiar with being part of a police investigation, answering questions from the media or handling money that was donated in honor of Somer. Besides being a liaison between Thompson and the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Freed has established the Thompson Family Trust through Jacksonville Bank to provide the public a way to donate to the family, developed a group of advisors that review fundraising proposals to weed out possible scams and now advises Thompson on opportunities to speak to the media and the public on her experiences.

Kimberly since LE is not publiclly clearing DT or the family, I am sure you would agree it is a good idea to find out if the sheriff did indeed say this? There are no quotes indicating the sheriff was interviewed only DT. It is all about getting to the truth, not who's right. We ALL want justice for Somer & hope/pray this is solved case very soon!!!

The other mods and I have had to finally make the decision that there is to be no discussion of whether Somer's parents were good parents or bad parents. Period.

The discussion here periodically circles back to that topic and all hell breaks loose. You guys have beating a dead horse down to a science.

We are not going to give any warnings about this: you post about it and you will be given an automatic timeout.

The parents are not the issue and we want to keep the discussion on track.

Do us a favor: if someone posts about DT/ST good parent/bad parent, please do not respond to the post. Hit the alert button and we will handle it asap.

Thanks to all of you for caring so much about Somer,

Hoppy
mod

ETA: If anyone wants to bump, link, or copy this post of mine when the good parent/bad parent posts pop up, please do!

Awww man! As hard as I worked trying to figure out how to copy links on this phone and it was in vain???

Lol - just kidding

I'll try to put my newly aquired super duper iPhone sleuthing skills to the test and see if I can find more.

There may not be an official statement from the sheriff on this. But that IMO does not mean it didn't happen. What could be gained by makng it up?

Ok off to look.

Dee10, I am lost. What are you wondering if the sheriff said?

Doc, do you think you could help me out digging up a link that shows the sheriff said this. I seem to remember it too, but what I have found so far does not seem to be enough.

Thanks.
