"Truff I am not going to come out and say it. Someone here has already posted about the family so called living style, lets jut keep it at that. Sorry if I do not give enough information, the only thing I know is this company was just about ruined and then cleared, a policeman parked across the street from the vacant house for 2 weeks, then after Somer stopped parking. Policeman asking a working crew before Somer went missing, you want to go to the store for some beer? (The owner thought that came out of no where) which the owner replied no, so you can stop me for a DUI. Just very strange family living at the house. Just an open mind is all."

It sounds as though the police officer was parked across the street for two weeks prior to Somer having gone missing. I find that really interesting because I do remember reading a comment when Somer first went missing on one of the local newspaper boards. A person was asking where the police officer was that usually was parked in the park across from the gano house.

Another comment I found interesting because some others were discussing the link of DT's lawyer to child trafficking:

"audreymaryjane 3 months ago
Any City where there is a port that city will always have an increase danger for child trafficking. Jacksonville does have a large port so we are at a higher risk. My story: A man attempted to take my daughter right out of my arms eleven years ago. Location: During the day at the Walgreen's parking lot in Atlantic Beach, Jax FL. Luckily I was strong enough to get away with my daughter who at the time was only a few weeks old. After reporting it to the police I was made aware of the under cover investigation going on in Jacksonville for child trafficking through the port. In fact during this same time the news was reporting Not to place baby announcement signs in your front yard. It could make you a target."

All the cop talk takes me back to the story of the undercover cop trying to get the little girl in the car. That story still makes no sense.

I am still thinking of Somer everyday and hoping for justice!

I looked at the linked news4jax articles and ran across a couple of comments I found interesting.

" roadmaster69 1 hour ago
I SAID IT BEFORE AND I SAY IT AGAIN,THE KILLER IS ONE OF THE CCSO PEOPLE THAT LIVE;S IN AN APARTMRNT COMPLIX ON WELL' RD"

" jaxgatorgirl3 1 week ago
It was the empty house (reportedly the path the children took on the way home from school). Remember, it was reported Somer was last seen in front of that house. The information is from the workers that did not know the family. I do not have any inside information, all I have is what the construction company told me that happened after the fact, after they were cleared of any wrong doing. It was odd, a policeman parked for at least 2 weeks across the street from that same house. It is odd that a policeman would just get out of his car and ask does anyone want to go to the store for beer, the owner was floored and said why? You will bust us for DUI. The owner thought that was the strangest thing he had ever encountered.

I hope they catch the person or persons. No one has been cleared, except this company. That I know, they went through all kinds of questioning, background and importantly all of their neighbors. This construction company does not live nor has an office in that area, they were on a job site at that empty house. I do not know if I could be strong like Somer's family nor Haleigh's family (well, I do not know what to call Haleigh's family). It is just very sad."

I admit it is interesting what roadmaster69 has to say.I'm curious about the apartment complex. Was this the apartment complex we were talking about that one of the dumpsters was at?Did they ever find out or say if and what dumpster Somer was possibly put in?

Ms Suzanne, I do remember that discussion , but I am not exactly sure if it was located on Wells Rd. Maybe someone who remembers the specifics of that discussion will check in.

"the undercover cop trying to get the little girl in the car."

Can someone please explain the whole story again to me.It didn't make sense to me either.Who was he?How did we get from a woman and hispanic men to the under cover cop story?Very confusing.Who were the other people?I have looked at alot of cases and I see usually what really happened is in a earlier lead LE usually receives.

The whole darn thing is very hinky, more than you know.

I have kept quiet out of respect for Law Enforcement, but I didn't realize about the wierd stuff about the beer cans, and car across the street for 2 weeks prior.

If the beer story is true, a RSO's finger prints would have been on a can.

From my perspective, there is absolutely nobody to trust.

  • #490
Didn't that company say they use to go in and find beer cans there?Could be from any one.Maybe something left at the Gano house from even before her murder will lead to her killer.

I understand it is a rumor....as a lot of things that have been shared on the site.

I am curious though.

I am sure there are tons of rumors floating around Orange Park. As long as you say it is a rumor, we are allowed to share, right?
Okay, in all fairness I did bring it up so PLEASE PLEASE everyone understand that this is ALL RUMOR. I have heard the Hooters dumpster on Wells Rd several times, which was discussed here some threads back. Even if I didn't post much until recently, I have read all the threads here.

The other location is a dumpster located on another major highway in the area. The way this information came to me is from a friend, who is a frequent customer of the business in question, and she said an employee there told her they had all been questioned by law enforcement and that they had been out collecting evidence from the dumpster. I hesitate to get any more specific than that, because if this is truly the location of said dumpster, law enforcement must have there reasons for not making this public yet, and I don't want to be the one posting it on the internet. I have no reason to doubt what this friend told me, but she doesn't know the employee all that well. People can have millions of reasons for saying what they say, wanting their 15 minutes of fame, and somehow connecting themselves to a case when in fact they know nothing. KWIM?

I'm very confused. How is a hispanic woman and men in this article connected to a undercover or off duty police man?are they two different attempts? It does not appear to me they are.Another early lead was the 4 men arrested that apparantly people thought were arrested at Somers mothers house and it ended up some where else they were arrested.Where were they arrested?Did they appear hispanic?

Since we have no one to sleuth at the moment, I would like to share something I read that was posted on one of the discussion boards from one of the websites for Somer. I honestly do not think I will be able to find it again, and will end up in that dark hole at the very bottom for days on end. So I will begin with - I can't link the site I read which hold the contents I am about to type. If you REALLY want to see it for yourself, I will do my very best to try and find it........... someone typed on a discussion board that they heard Somer's body had Hooters garbage around her & they figured out she was dumped in there. There is a Hooters on Wells Road near her house.

The comment i saw right after her body was found, said she was dumped around 4am tuesday morning in a local restauraunt's dumpster. Hmm...

Ms Suzanne, if my memory serves me correctly the sheriff or someone came out days after the attempted abduction story had come out and stated that it in was not connected to Somer and that no attempted abduction had taken place. That it was in fact an off duty officer trying to help a distressed child. It made no sense then and it makes no sense now.

  • #495
A lot of things don't make sense, I never did see any other explanation either for the attempted abduction, and the woman who took the girl home seemed sure something was not right also....very strange indeed, especially when putting the different posts from different sites together. its hard to say if one post created more rumor or not. If LE was investigating one of their own, well I think they would go extra far to keep it quiet! Its very fustrating with no new info from them, we are going on to 4 months and still nothing. i have seen the Hooters dumpster mentioned several times now. I also recall talk about the son of a LE officer, but i have no idea which thread!

Ok, I stumbled across this and found it extremely interesting. According to this post Somer had actually walked home from school with the little girl who had previously had an abduction attempt.

[ame="http://www.crimeshots.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10032"]Somer Thompson, (7) missing - Crimeshots© True Crime Forums[/ame]

A failed abduction

The sheriff said there is no indication of a link between Somer's disappearance and an Oct. 10 attempted abduction of a 5-year-old girl about a block from where Somer disappeared.

April Boothroyd's daughter, Kaylee, was riding a bike when she was approached by a car with two men and a woman, who tried to get her into their car.

Boothroyd said she is frightened for Somer. "It's horrible," she said.

She said her daughter told her Monday night the two girls had previously walked home from Grove Park Elementary school together.

really strange. I have to go now but will be back tomorrow and I will see what else we can dig up.

That comment was taken from this article

http://jacksonville.com/news/metro/..._mother_of_missing_orange_park_girl_somer_ren

Did anyone know that Somer and the little girl who had the abduction attempt made on her had had any contact?

This all seems so strange to me

QUOTE
Boivin said his agency received a flier from the Sheriff's Office a week before the attempted abduction that a suspicious black SUV pulled up to a student at Orange Park Junior High School. He said there was no indication the incident was an attempted abduction, or that there is any connection to Somer's disappearance

Is this the little girl on the bike or another attempt?

Black or blue suv?both are said in the article.

It slipped her mind to report it to the school?

Is this two attempts with a suv before somer came up missing? This needs to be looked into.
