The single-story brick house was apparently empty when police arrived. Next door neighbor Thelma Cody, 77, said a husband, wife and their two sons and a cousin who'd been living in the home moved out last year. She said she wasn't sure when the family moved or where to. Another neighbor, Tanyia Williams, said she saw people move into the home last year, clean up the property and then leave at some point later in the year.

What is all the digging about when they are searching these places?

The home at XXXX Gano Ave. is was roped off with police tape about 2:20 p.m. as deputies and an FBI forensics team began searching in the front yard using rakes and shovels

That is what WESH or FirstCoastNews reported right at 5 p.m. [Sorry, I was flipping channels as soon as WESH started talking about it. WESH is an NBC affiliate as is WTLV/1st Coast News.]

A post just upthread a bit said that had some step-children. Maybe it wasn't his natural son, but a step-son who is the RSO.

There might be something to the comments in that story. Whomever posted, first posted it on another news site (FCN) and his or her original comment has been pulled. He/She said he knew the person who lived there and they lived alone when Somer went missing. They called LE a few weeks ago and directed them to the house and person. Finger's crossed.

evidence was due back this week...

someone who claims to have turned him in left interesting comments on one of the articles, as indicated above regarding timing of vacancy/occupancy of house being searched.
