IIRC, it was that same week (week of 10/19) but after Somer's body was found that RB and LB drove by the house, saw JH's car in driveway. I don't know if it was that day or how long after that RB then told a Clay County detective about JH and the on the computer.

Buchanan said he was shocked to learn that Harrell's parents had moved out two weeks before Somer Thompson was reported missing, but Harrell still lived at the home.

Buchanan and his wife decided to go by that house.

"And when we drove by, his vehicle was in the driveway, and it was right across the street from the athletic field, right where she (Somer) had to walk every day," Buchanan said.

After that, Buchanan said he went to a Clay County detective and let him know that Harrell was living in that house on Gano. Buchanan said he also told the detective about the that they had found a few months earlier and turned in to police.

My 2 cents:

This guy lived 3 or 4 houses from where LE said Somer was last seen. We have read reports she was last seen by “Kyle” at the burned out Gano house.

A friend said she had stopped at JH’s house before to pet a white dog.

Sleuthers here have looked on various MS and FB pages and found a picture of a white dog on a page that can be linked to JH.

We have heard he lived in the shed.

We have heard the family moved a couple weeks before Somer was taken/killed/dumped. That tells me JH had access to that house and shed alone. No one home to witness anything.

We know he has had a sick “pastime” of viewing child since he was a teen. His step dad found a tackle box full of child when he was a teen.

We have seen video/still shots of who appears to be JH at one of the vigils. This is something that is a known action of a perp who wants to be witness to the aftermath of their actions.

We have LE digging and raking at JH’s house on Gano and the home in Callahan.

We have LE taking DNA sample for his presumed bio dad. His dad says then JH gave a sample

Right after some of the tests results are received, he is arrested for child and called a POI in Somer’s case.

LE is calling him a POI. Nobody else since Oct. has been named a POI. So, why this guy???? IMO There has to be a reason.

So…
1) He has/had previous issues with thinking children are sex objects ***MOTIVE???***
2) Lived very close to where Somer went missing in a home or shed alone ***OPPORTUNITY???***

I just don’t understand how he is almost being defended by some.

I’ve seen Somer’s family and friends of the family bashed and blamed for months with a lot less info on them than we have on JH. CP was “hinky” because he says he likes . I’m assuming he means adult that is perfectly legal in our country. I don’t agree with it, but it’s legal.
But, for some reason, the fact that we are discussing this that likes child , not legal and IMO disgusting, is bothering some. I don’t get it.

I understand that no one (myself included) wants to see an innocent person framed for a murder they did not commit, but I don’t see that happening in this case.

I think JH had talked to Somer before using his dog as a lure.
I think Somer saw JH on the day she was taken and asked him where his dog was.
I think JH used that to get Somer in that house or that shed.
I think he sexually attacked her, killed her, and dumped her in the trash.

IMO he fits the suspect role better than anybody else that we know of so far. I don’t think her family fits. I don’t think friends of the family fit. And, I don’t think the RSOs in the area fit, because I believe they have DNA and it did not match what LE had in the database for the ROS’s.

I’ve always believed this was a sexually motivated crime. I think the fact a known child fan has given DNA and named a POI kinda backs that up. IMO

Great post Kim! I agree with what you say. It has baffled my mind since JH was named a POI, that some are more willing to give a man facing 29 counts of possession of child , a clearly established history of that behavior, the means and motive for this crime, the benefit of doubt. But not give that same courtesy to a grieving family that lost their sweet little Somer.

Twall, my brain obviously was not working ... the family (except for allegedly JH) was gone by 10/19 and most likely so was all ham radio equipment.

Now you know why I need a timeline. And even then it does not help.

I will keep searching for any comments about that shed. I beleive it's possible that the shed had not been moved until after Somer went missing.There was a pickup truck in the photos of the Callhan home, so they had the means to move it whenever they wanted too. I wonder if LE believed that house to be empty and were not able to access it during the search. It could have appeared unlived in, locked up and secure. IF JH is guilty of this, the crime could have taken place in the shed (if still there) , then Somer put it to his car , he drives around to find a dumptser behind a mall, office etc. where no one is around or can see him. He worked at one time near the office complex dumpsters that were discussed here and on news story comments. Just thinking out loud about possibilities.

IMO he could have assaulted her, killed her, and put her in his car to bring her elsewhere to dump her before the major searching began.
LE could have talked to him that night. After he returned.

Is there some sort of secret radio signal for these creeps? I wouldn't be shocked by it. They tend to flock together. Often live together, have the same friends... KWIM

It's even creepier to think that a radio was made for her, and could have been in her house. I had that weird dream that he could make her her own treehouse. very wierd.

Did the D's teach kids how to use the radio's?

I stayed out of the discussion regarding 'benefit of doubt'. I also think that this is our best POI to date.

Is there any information out as to whether anyone is being charged in the distribution sites that were allegedly downloaded onto JH's computer?

In other words are they going after the purveyors and makers of the child ? Or is JH to be the only person charged for possession? Did anyone else have access and are they also to be charged? Surely this investigation would have revealed he was not the sole viewer of and in possession of this stuff. Where are the cases against these individuals?

I don't remember the exact times, but I think Somer was last seen before 3:00 and reported missing a little before 5:00. Is that right????

After DT reported it, it would take time to take the report, talk to everybody, get the stories...then the searches would begin.

When did they start going house to house? Was it that night.

I'm thinking JH had time to assualt, kill, and dispose of Somer's body before the house to house searches started. He had a car.

IMO he was back and listening to what LE was doing and when searches were beginning.

Makes me sick to think about it. She may have been taken to a dumpster and thrown away before LE started looking. IMO

Then, we have that video/still shots of a man who looks just like JH at a vigil, very close to the family. Sick.
