Hi, I am a newbie! Have read a lot of the theories, and some very good ones. Hope i will be able to post some too.

You know i often watch shows on T.V. that show how crimes are solved. Forensic Files, First 48, etc. I do believe it is certainly not an easy task for L.E. people to solve them, and sometimes they don't get solved for many years. It is very interesting in how they go about it though, and goodness the amount of investigation that goes into it all. Forensics is such an interesting field, and as they say, "forensic, and DNA evidence doesn't lie", and thank God for it, because of the accuracy of it, they tend to always get the guilty ones, and that is something they didn't always have, so it would of been much harder to get the right person/persons.
I hope they solve the crime of Somer Thompson's death quickly, although in some ways it will be small consolation to her family for their very sad loss. My heart is with them, and i Pray for God to give them all the Love and strength they need.

I remember reading that his father was asked for a DNA sample, and he was told that JH had refused to give a sample. But, that was, what 7 weeks ago? That's the only thing I have seen that is remotely akin to not cooperating with LE?

Sometimes I think we (as a collected whole) expect cases to turn out just like they do in the popular 1 hour crime dramas on TV. When in fact.....it's the farthest from truth and real life investigations.

Seems that LE have thankless jobs - hard work and always under public scrutiny and I'm sure that's why there is such a high level of comradery! You're right, DNA is the best!

I consider it a miracle that Somer's body was located as quuickly as it was. And I thank God for it. Now I just hope that Somer had usuable DNA under her nails for a comparison with her murderer.

How was Somer subdued? She was a healthy looking child and would have fought for her life, IMO. I honestly do not think it would be a stretch for her to have had foreign DNA lodged under her nails.

There is something more than the child that has LE leaning toward JH. It also appears JH had the means, motive, and opportunity to murder Somer. Somer may not have felt JH was a dangerous person. Didn't JH's aunt say he was a big, sweet teddy bear or something to that effect? His mother and stepdad had already moved from their home on Gano, so he had the house and shed pretty much to himself.

IDK. I just want there to be justice for Somer and for her family to know all there is to know so that they can begin the healing process. As long as Somer's murderer is out there, a real healing process cannot begin, IMO.

I have complete faith in LE regarding this case! They WILL get their guy - I"m sure! I think the aunt referenced JH as 'the Pillsbury Dough Boy', makes you think of someone sort of plump and harmless. Although, IMO, it is very derogatory for a someone 24yo...mho

I agree - DNA under her nails might be what solves this case. Also, stomach contents at the time of death. I wonder if JH had a credit card he may have used at a nearby fast food place and gave Somer a bite. We will see!

Honestly, it is knowing what JH is accused of that makes him look sinister, IMO.

I just want to scream "Nooooooooooooooooo" for all the children .......it's just an abomination of nature that these freaks walk amongst us. It makes you just want to lay down and cry at the injustice of it all. *Big Sigh*

JH's family speaks out:

They say they can't believe their relative would be capable of murdering anyone.

Police arrested Harrell, 24, Thursday in Meridian, Miss. on child charges.

He used to live just blocks away from where the Clay County girl lived.

She was kidnapped last fall while walking home from school, and her body was later found in a Georgia landfill.

"I can just tell you that I know him and he is not a child killer by any means. I mean it's ridiculous to even think about it," said Harrell’s aunt, Kriss Mizelle.

Mizelle says her nephew never showed any signs of violence.

She also says she isn't convinced the child found on his computer is his because Harrell shared that computer with others. ~snip~

JH has more potential for being the POI/perp in this case than anyone who was pointed to before him. MHO I don't understand why he is being called the 'scapegoat' or 'fall' guy? Seems he IS the most qualified to be POI at this point.

Harrell was living in the house on Gano when Somer was murdered; on the same street Somer and other children walk to and from school each day. No job, no place to live, no friends - head filled with sex acts between children - why defend him at this point?

CHILD - Harrell has been charged with 29 counts of child , the same kind of his father found 8 years ago. People turning in the computer to LE had lie detector tests and the computer was researched as to time of downloads and compared to JH bank transactions.

RECAP: Harrell's mind has been filled with child since at least 16yo, he is now 24yo. He kept his child in a locked tackle box. He steals from roommates, lies to police, refuses to give his DNA, lives a parasitic life by living off others, unable to keep a job due to his severe temper, is said to be a social recluse, at 24yo had a computer and cd's filled with child , and at the age of 24 has no reported girl friends or age appropriate relationships.

He has been named a POI in the Somer murder investigation, the reasons remain unclear but it is safe to assume the evidence has something to do with DNA.

At the very least JH will be behind bars for a very long time for kiddie , and at the very most, he will be dealing with murder one charges. NO ONE PERSON has surfaced with as much potential for murdering a 7yo as JH. Forensics will tell! MOO

Yes, I'm not getting where this mantra is coming from either, unless some people don't like the fact JH doesn't fit their strongly held theory/belief of what happened to Somer? IDK.
Just a thought.

As you say, time will tell along with the evidence. To me there is no reasonable or credible evidence to show he's being railroaded at this point.

It had to do with the use of naming a POI in a case vs. coming right out and naming someone a SUSPECT in a high profile case.

People just aren't named suspects anymore by LE until they are pretty much charged with the crime and awaiting trial. This is standard practice now for the last several years.
It proves nothing one way or the other.
