Really doubtful the laptop's been returned, that there is evidence. He could've bought a new one after being thrown out of the roomie's place, they're not very expensive these days (I got one from the bf from my birthday). And I'd think that LE has that one too. He doesn't seem like the type that could be away from a computer or the internet for too long.

And as for the aunt - just because she sat with him while he made her a website, doesn't mean he didn't have anything awful on there hidden away. MOO IMHO.

So, maybe they fled this home due to what was owed? I have seen it happen many times. Can't do the mortgage and the taxes so, see ya'. The bank is usually days if not months behind on abandoned property. New rental is probably in her name.......?

This is true - A person looking at child porn for years, doesn't translate into a display of evidence that murder will follow. However, there is evidence he/she is a felon with sickened sexual desires and who knows where that will lead!

Important to note: First Coast fails to go on and tell their readers how Jarrad has become so outrageously narcissistic that he inserts himself into his home made child porn videos. How he has escalated from collecting and viewing in his teens - to producing - to making sure he captures himself molesting on his own home made video. And who knows where that leads!

Because LE are dealing with felonies, it's hard to establish a link between watching child porn and murder; or molesting children on camera and murder. For certain, there is an escalation in 'hands on' participation - so, for me, because the link isn't established in NO way means it doesn't exist. MOO MHO etc

Have you seen her website? I sure wish I could remember where I found it but it didn't look "built" to me. It wasn't ready for public viewing and a lot of time didn't go into it.

And, not for nothing, but I could plop someone over my shoulder and build a website for them and they wouldn't see a single thing that's on my computer.

Right! I don't understand why so many are minimizing his LEWD AND LASCIVIOUS MOLESTATION! He is the producer, director, and participant in his own film. And because LE didn't find more, doesn't mean it doesn't exist!

I'll say it again - he is escalating in the child porn arena - he is also escalating in his sociopathic profile of lying, stealing, narcissism, failing to take on responsibility, temper tantrums, frequent moves, and parasitic living.

An additional charge of child molestation and 12 counts of using a child in a sexual performance were filed today against Jarred Mitchell Harrell, the Clay County man also named as a person of interest in the Somer Thompson slaying, court records show.

The 13 new charges against Harrell, 24, were added to a case in which he was charged two weeks ago with molesting the same unidentified young girl and promoting a sexual performance involving the girl. There are now 26 counts against Harrell in that case, which investigators said did not involve Somer.

The case centers on accusations of molestation and graphic videotaping and photographing of a girl between the ages of 3 and 5 in a home once owned by Harrell's stepfather at 1152 Gano Ave. in Orange Park. The incidents occurred between May and November of 2008, records said. The images were found on a digital camera taken by investigators during a search of the Callahan home of Harrell's mother, records show.

That case was brought on top of 29 counts of child pornography filed against Harrell Feb. 11. He was arrested in Meridian, Miss., on a warrant in the 29-count case, which stemmed from graphic images found by Harrell's former Orange Park roommates on his laptop and computer discs last summer.

Harrell is set to be arraigned in Clay County Circuit Court Wednesday. He is being represented by the public defender's office. Harrell has not responded to a Times-Union request for an interview.

Jarred Harrell, the person of interest in the Somer Thompson murder case, has officially been charged in another case involving molestation and production of child porn. Police say this case is not related to the Thompson investigation.

Harrell's charging document, filed today, revealed he is now facing 26 charges stemming from 12 photos and one video police say they found in a camera in Harrell's Callahan home.

Harrell will be arraigned on the charges Wednesday.

Jarred Harrell, the man named as a person of interest in the Somer Thompson murder case, is facing 13 new charges the day before he is set to be arraigned. The state attorney's office said Tuesday the new charges are related to the same child victim, who may be as young as 3 years old, and the images and video that deputies said they found on Harrell's computer last month.

As a result of what else they've seen in those pictures and video, prosecutors said they are filing one new lewd molestation charge against Harrell and 12 new counts of using a child in a sexual performance. Prosecutors said the reason for the new charges is to "maximize the prosecution."

Harrell is accused of child molestation, production and possession of child pornography. In total, Harrell is facing 55 charges. He is scheduled to be arraigned in court Wednesday morning, and he's currently being held without bond.

(Explanation is that Buchanan states, in response to how long did JH live with your stepdaughter, and says a couple of months, so JustyThoughts estimated at June 2009). August 10: They do not hear from him, and the discussion comes up about there having been child porn found on his computer about a year ago by Rod Buchanan's stepson (a minor at the time). They are pretty expensive to me and I would think they would be for JH as well since he was unemployed. Not many unemployed people can just run out and buy a new computer. On his form he filled out to apply for indigent status he listed zero income and zero debts.
