I've been wondering if JH is a parasite who lives off family, produces child , and friendless - or does he hang around with other pedophiles? I've not heard a single thing about him socializing with friends his own age. Has anyone?

He looks to me like a loner; I haven't heard of anyone besides his Aunt coming to his defense. I would guess he lacks in social skills & has problems making friends with people of his own age. MOO

Even tho he seems to be a loner, I've seen it stated so many times that these sickos hang with each other. They often live together. They communicate with each other via the net.
I think it's possible he has friends that are like him. I don't think he has "normal" friends.

Children that have been abused can be withdrawn as adults. Wonder if J.H. was molested as a child too. From what i have read this is usually the case with child molesters in most cases. Right or wrong this is how it is. They know on an intellectual level it is wrong, yet they will still go and perpetrate themselves as adults. I have often thought that if you were molested as a child, then surely you would not want to inflict that kind of pain yourself as an adult, knowing how terrible it was, but this doesn't seem to be the case. I guess a psychologist/psychiatrist would be able to explain it better. It is a terrible circumstance all round.

I do not feel sorry for this guy if he molested and killed little Somer even if he could have been molested as a child.When he put this pretty little girl in the dumpster like trash I have no sympathy for him at all.Somers mother was right it was not ok.I pray that they do get the right guy and he does pay for what he did.Rest in peace pretty little Somer.Justice is coming.

June 2009, JH was asked to move out the Gano house by his parents
He moved in with buchanan's step-daughter
until he was asked to move out in August, 2009.

Oct. 5th, his mom and dad move out of the Gano house into rented place in Callahan. DID HE LIVE AT GANO HOUSE OR WITH MOM?
Oct. 19th Somer disappears. Somer found in garbage dump on Oct. 21st. His vehicle seen in driveway on Oct. 23rd.
Jan. 24th, JH moves to Meridian MS.
Feb. 11th - arrested

I just find it difficult to believe Somer was accosted by J.H. before this crime was committed against her. I think Somer would have said something to her Mom or sibs. I am sure someone in her family would have noticed a difference in her behaviour? I am puzzled that at least her 10yr. old sister, if they all walked home together, did not go after her, if she took off by herself? If i left my older child in charge of the younger ones, then i would as a mother definitely stress to the older child, not to dare let them out of your sight? But that is me! Is it known if Somer frequently took off on her own, and wouldn't this have been brought to her mother's attention, and wouldn't you think if she was prone to stopping and patting the dog, someone else would have been with her on most of those occasions? Was mom aware of this?
Also if the neighbours were so aware of J.H., then wouldn't someone have seen something if he lured her to his place? Too many questions, sorry!

I know how hard it is to work long hours to provide for children and at the same time try to keep them off danger, when they as normal kids seem to be magnets for getting into trouble.

As parents we want to trust that everyone out there is of good character and will look out for our children.

But, times have changed and nowadays dangers lurk for children EVERYWHERE.

I mean, who would've thought that children's confidence building clubs, churches, schools, would be so full of child abusers and molesters???

What kind of world we live in where children cannot even play outside their doors or walk a short distance from school without being prey to some degenerate b*****d, who has no better thing to do in life but to hurt them to fill some kind of animalistic urge they seem to feed by and fantasy?

Day care/babysitting costs a fortune for one child, let alone for two, three, four. I'm not talking about anyone in particular, this is just the way it is everywhere.

Mom and stepdad own the home on Gano - right? I'm thinking that if they had JH's digital camera with pics of his molesting - they probably did the packing and moving. Why would they move to a place where they had to pay rent? What was the hurry?

Hard for me to imagine JH cleaning the empty house on Gano. And it's even harder for me to imagine his parents moving to get away from him? MOO

According to Rod Buchanan, Jarred Harrell's bio father is an SO.

I think Somer often stopped by and asked about the dog. Just as she stopped & told Kyle what a good job they were doing on the house. On that day, maybe JH was outside, she asked where his dog was, he told her inside & asked if she wanted to come pet it. Maybe he was wanting to take the opportunity to take some pics of Somer & once inside, she freaked out, threatening to tell her Mom, started to run out of the house, he grabbed her, she fell & died from her injuries. He didn't have the opportunity to undress her, etc. because she wasn't going to be a willing party to his plans. He puts her in the trunk of his car, waits until dark & disposes of her body in a dumpster near his home & leaves the neighborhood, never to be seen at the Gano address again. He moves to Callahan with his Mom & laid low. That is until something spooked him & he high tailed it to Mississippi thinking the LE would not be able to track him down. Maybe the only DNA they have from Somer is touch DNA (possibly on one of her arms or where ever he grabbed her to keep her from running out of the house) & the touch DNA was contaminated with the trash in the dumpster, so it's going to take longer for the results to come back & that's why they haven't charged him with her murder yet. There has to be more to the story for Sheriff Bessler to go on the record stating JH is a person of interest in the Somer Thompson case. He hasn't done that with anyone else - don't you find it very telling?

The only problem i have with the theory that she died accidently at JH house (ie: a fall) is that when LE found her in the landfill they immediately knew it was a homicide. That just lends more to a theory that she had something around her neck or something that would be even more sinister.

Lipin, do you really think it is more dangerous now or is it just the case that it is widely reported now. Kids have been taught to report it.

What happened to Somer really is a rare event. I checked the stats one time and it was very rare.

While Harrell was gone, the roommates got into the computer to search for child after they had been told Harrell had been caught looking at child , according to the warrant. They opened the images and found a nude white girl between the age of 6 and 8, and the computer was turned over to the sheriff's office on Aug. 10, according to the warrant. Harrell moved into the home on Gano Avenue between that time and December, when neighbors said he moved out.

It is never okay to abuse anyone whether sexually, physically or otherwise. Especially not a child. I was just making a point that child victims become child molesters later in life, as the stats. will tell you. And maybe that is when the vicious cycle is broken, when these perps are caught and put behind bars. Trouble is too many are out there, and still a big danger to society.
