I just find it difficult to believe Somer was accosted by J.H. before this crime was committed against her. I think Somer would have said something to her Mom or sibs. I am sure someone in her family would have noticed a difference in her behaviour? I am puzzled that at least her 10yr. old sister, if they all walked home together, did not go after her, if she took off by herself? If i left my older child in charge of the younger ones, then i would as a mother definitely stress to the older child, not to dare let them out of your sight? But that is me! Is it known if Somer frequently took off on her own, and wouldn't this have been brought to her mother's attention, and wouldn't you think if she was prone to stopping and patting the dog, someone else would have been with her on most of those occasions? Was mom aware of this?
Also if the neighbours were so aware of J.H., then wouldn't someone have seen something if he lured her to his place? Too many questions, sorry!

1st BBM - Abby is said to have stated that she did chase after somer but couldn't catch her.

2nd BBM - Neighbors have been quoted as saying that Somer ran off all the time and roamed the neighborhood looking for someone to play with. The former baby sitter said that Somer didn't always come home when the other kids did and that she had been provided a list by the mother of people to call if Somer didn't come home, but Somer's mother says Somer NEVER ran off , so we don't know what is the truth.

It is never okay to abuse anyone whether sexually, physically or otherwise. Especially not a child. I was just making a point that child victims become child molesters later in life, as the stats. will tell you. And maybe that is when the vicious cycle is broken, when these perps are caught and put behind bars. Trouble is too many are out there, and still a big danger to society.

I know.It's very sad.

They all say that. Maybe that's what's on his DL. I don't think that's the address the parents live @ in Callahan now, is it?

ETS: I see you edited while I was posting :)

So that must mean the move to Callahan was for a reason - maybe other relatives there? Don't they own the home on Gano? Didn't we tear our hair our trying to figure all the players out long time ago? This is not making sense!

So the Oct. 5th moving date to Callahan isn't so accurate.

I find this WAY too confusing and secretive - something is going on here. MOO

I don't know if that is AD/GLD II's address.

I haven't been able to find a matching address for what's listed on his parking tickets. Most of the addresses have 5 numbers.

ETA: no familiar last names on the list @ the property appraiser's office anywhere on that street.

No background checks come up either - you can't get an address on your license unless you show at least two items that place you at that address. Another mystery :banghead:

Why would you leave a house you own only to rent another one somewhere else? KWIM?

Lipin, do you really think it is more dangerous now or is it just the case that it is widely reported now. Kids have been taught to report it.

What happened to Somer really is a rare event. I checked the stats one time and it was very rare.

You're right, in the past children did not have the resources that children nowadays have to report the incidents.

But, I don't know.

My personal experience, though I never lived in the city growing up, is that people were more religious and there was something called "honor" that many people held high back then.

In my hometown, any rapist/molester was in a way socially isolated. Everyone would know where he lived, nobody would speak to him, and children would make fun of him. Committing a sexual crime was really "social suicide."

Kinda like registered sexual offenders list now, but no need for lists back then.

BTW, we only had one rapist in town. The silent treatment was a deterrent.

Regarding what happened to Somer, though rare, one incident is one too many.

There is a warrant or some document that has her address listed. The traffic ticket info is not her address. I can't find that address anywhere.

Maybe it's the address of the shed in the backyard.
