I see what an effort it must be for the families of missing/murdered loved ones -- trying to keep their story in the public eye when there are not updates in the case.

Westcott said FBI agents were assisted in the arrest by the Clay County Sheriff's Office, the Florida Attorney General's Office and agents from federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Police have said his arrest is in no way related to Somer Thompson's disappearance and murder. After 7-year-old Somer disappeared from the neighborhood near her Orange Park home last October, police searched the area for sex offenders and other related offenses.

Watkins was interviewed as part of that search. His home is about a quarter of a mile from Somer's home.

But just not in Florida?

Florida Department of Law Enforcement records show no criminal history for Watkins in the state.

Have they charged this JH guy with anything relating to Somer yet? Wasn't he arrested in mid February?

He is still a POI, and the only charges against him are molestation and porn, as of right now.

JH has not been charged with anything to do with Somer yet. He is still assumed to be a POI in the case, we have not heard them say he has been cleared or anything. But, only charges so far have nothing to do with Somer.

The new info being "leaked" is interesting. CCSO has been very tight lipped from the start and all of a sudden we are getting tidbits here and there from the media. I'm not saying CCSO is leaking the info, but that's what I'm thinking.

Unless, the media is all of a sudden spewing at the mouth details that are just not confirmed.

I live just a few miles away from Somers house, and even though it hasn't really been reported on, it is kind of common knowledge around here that she was raped before she was murdered, that is why when her body was found LE concentrated on sex offenders. As far as her body being wrapped in a rug, I haven't heard anything about a rug, but I did hear that she was wrapped in something...I really hope this post helps answer your question, even if it's only in some small way. We are all holding our breath about Jarred Harrell...I hope they have the monster who stole this beautiful child from our community.

They had cleared 161 of them within 2 days of her body being found. How could they know there was no DNA match by then? Even if all of those had DNA on file (which they did not).

There is no way they had DNA results from evidence found on Somer by 10/23, is there?

Clay County Sheriff's spokeswoman Mary Justino said Friday that investigators have talked to all 161 of the sex offenders residing within a 5-mile radius of 7-year-old Somer Thompson's house.

So you live nearby Somers house? thats good, maybe we can get some good info because LE doesn't seem to want to let the public know much. you know what I mean? This is the first time I think anyone has heard anything about a rape. I mean we can assume all we want, but the facts just aren't out there on what actually happened to her.

Anyone can rape. It does not have to be someone who has been previously caught. I don't understand CCSO thinking on this.

I can see that if she were raped, they would look in that direction for sure, but I don't understand how they could say there was no suspect in the group if she was raped. What "cleared" those RSOs? ETA: AND so dang fast.

I understand what you mean. I just didn't want you to take my post the wrong way, that is why I deleted it, I'm new on here and I'm just trying to help in any way I can. I know some of Diena's friends and family, and if there is anything I hear from them, I'm more than happy to share it with you guys, we all want the same thing, it's what brings us together. So please don't take anything I say the wrong way, I'm just trying to help in any way I can, and I'm a very sensitive person, I would never try to be rude or disrespectful to anyone on here, I appreciate everyone on here, and I hope that we can all get to know each other better while working toward a common goal of making some kind of sense out of this.
