I wonder if there is someone connected to JH and CW who is a bigger fish in the world of child 🤬🤬🤬🤬, and maybe an arrest will be forthcoming.

  • #342
Nobody thinks they live in a bad place until there is a murder in their neighborhood. But it's true that it happens everywhere. (as does child 🤬🤬🤬🤬)
amen noway! I grew up in a one stoplight town and when I was in 5th grade my friend Tina Harmon was abducted, raped, murdered, and dumped in a field. Evil has no preferences and can hit anywhere at any time and no matter where it happens..truly shocks the people that live within that community no matter how big or how small.:twocents:

So true. I also live in a small town and have found out, evil is among us.

Jax is pretty big too right? I'm not far from a couple big cities and the news is filled nighly with horrible stories.

I don't think Jax is any different or worse.

Praying for justice Somer.

Bumping for Somer.

I wonder if CW didn't go to court today. It's a little weird that there doesn't seem to be any media coverage on it.

Check his court docket?
Is this for Duval or Clay Co.?
I would do it but someone is bugging me for computer time!

He was arrested by the FBI, federal charges. I don't think the charges were from Clay County (that is where he lives and they did assist with the arrest IIRC).

From http://jacksonville.fbi.gov/dojpressrel/pressrel10/ja031810.htm

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Florida Attorney General’s Office, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. It is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney D. Rodney Brown.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Led by United States Attorneys’ Offices and the Criminal Division's Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to better locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims. For more information about Project Safe Childhood, please visit www.projectsafechildhood.gov.

This investigation was part of Operation Predator, a nationwide ICE initiative to identify, investigate, and arrest those who prey on children, including human traffickers, international sex tourists, Internet pornographers, and foreign-national predators, whose crimes make them deportable. Launched in July 2003, ICE agents have arrested more than12,000 individuals through Operation Predator. ICE encourages the public to report suspected child predators and any suspicious activity through its toll-free hotline at 1-866347-2423. This hotline is staffed around the clock by investigators. Suspected child sexual exploitation or missing children may be reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, an Operation Predator partner, at 1-800-843-5678 or http://www.cybertipline.com.

oh, that's right-federal-my bad, I forgot that tidbit!
I have no idea how to check federal court cases-anyone?
Also, since the neighbor has federal charges and a federal grand jury indicted him on 2 charges does that mean that his case had links to another state-I'm thinking the original source of the 🤬🤬🤬🤬 he was arrested for may have come from another state.
JH has no federal charges, correct?

I thought his were federal too.

Which just might explain why his court records are no longer in the Clay County record system online?

eta
JH is being held in the CC jail, so he'll continue to have county jail records; but CW was released on bail.

Now I'm thinking I am confusing "felony" and "federal" ...

A while back I wondered whether U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) involvement was normal in these cases (they were involved in CW's).

I noticed this article, which explains the ICE involvement.

http://www.ice.gov/pi/nr/1003/100310miami.htm

and at the bottom

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is the largest investigative arm of the Department of Homeland Security.

ICE comprises four integrated divisions that form a 21st century law enforcement agency with broad responsibilities for a number of key homeland security priorities. For more information, visit www.ICE.gov. To report suspicious activity, call 1-866-347-2423.

I remember Diana stating something fairly early on that she wanted to play a role in helping other missing families or play some kind of a role in that aspect, has this been determined in the "The Somer Thompson Foundation?

Dee10, Noway and I were trying to figure that out the other day.

I don't think it has been announced yet what the foundation will do. I remember something about the details will be announced at the concert.

It's a foundation kick off.

So, I'm thinking DT or someone will make a big announcement to fill us all in.

I hope so anyway.

IMO DT could do a lot of good with that money. In Somer's name.
It would be so great.

I'm looking forward to mom Diena's contribution for the missing child. She is articulate and intelligent - and would be a great spokesperson for the cause. Can't think of a better or more productive way for her to contribute to the memory of her daughter. MOO

I have thought from the beginning she would be a powerhouse for the cause.
