Oh I hope too that this means there has been arrest for the Somer's murder and that LE has a solid case. I am so tired of all these missing people's deaths remaining unsolved.

This morning the FloridaTimes Union is reporting has been charged with murder. That's a report the Sheriff's Office says it will not comment on until that noon news conference

arred Harrell, named a person of interest in the 2009 death of 7-year-old Somer Thompson of Orange Park, has been charged with premeditated murder.

Harrell, 24, already in the Clay County Jail on child charges, was arrested anew Thursday. He was also charged with sexual battery on a victim under 12 and lewd and lascivious battery, according to a Sheriff's Office listing released early today of Thursday arrests.

The listing did not say who Harrell was accused of killing, but the Sheriff's Office said in a news release early this morning that it would announce a "major development" at noon about the Somer Thompson case.

Harrell will have his first court appearance on the new charges tomorrow morning.

awot, like everyone else on here, I am sorry for your loss. My parents lost a child and no one stepped up with a check or a foundation. However, my sibling died of disease, not at the hands of a heinous murderer.

Does it seem kind of unfair? Heck yeah. BUT - I also realize that there weren't thousands of people watching my mother's grief on television, feeling helpless about finding some way - any way - to do something, anything to help.

Hooters is a good corporate citizen. Their liquor license is tied to their sales being primarily derived from food sales. If the point was the attire of their servers, to my knowledge, none of them are underage nor are they made up to look younger than their age. [Quite the opposite, imo.]

Again, I am very sorry for your loss. It is something no parent should have to endure. Please know that the outpouring of generosity to Somer's family in comparison to your family in no way reflects how the world views your loss. If anything, be grateful that you were not the subject of "whispers" all over the internet wondering if you were somehow responsible for your child's death.

me tooo. its either going to be jh or the older man recently arrestted. idk? just seems odd that jh has been in jail alll this time and nothing much moved forwared and then after this other arrest something develops soon after, but with jh I feel he is a good suspect, and maybe test results are back from early on, but its good something major has popped up....

1) premeditated murder
2) sexual battery on a child under 12
and
3) lewd and lascivious battery

and is to be in court tomorrow on these charges

I'm crying tears of joy right now because this feels like it!!!

I just don't know what to say.

This case has been a major part of most of our lives for so long. PLEASE LET THIS BE THE DAY JUSTICE BEGINS!!!!

I hope I have time at work to see the presser. If not, I'll just be watching this thread on my cell.

Praying for justice for you Somer!!!! We love you so much even though we never met you. If this monster did this to you, I hope he gets what is coming to him on earth, then the final justice will be when he meets his maker.

just to add to this....

He also has said he knows Somer and that she may have spent time in his house because of his grandkids.
He said he often allowed children in his home to use the computer. :loser:
