This has been a pretty calm thread since Hoppy and Tricia laid down the law about not bashing the parents.
We are hopeing to get a sub forum...please y'all, lets try not to bicker.

IMO if this thread become a problem again, like it was for so long, it will make it harder to get the sub forum.

Kimberly - if a person comes on the Somer thread saying mom Diena isn't a 'normal' mom and her response to trauma isn't 'normal', I honestly would like to know what substantiates that accusation - some idea of where that accusation comes from is important.

In the first 10 - 20 threads, it was discussed ad nauseum, how mom Diena was guilty of murder 'cause she didn't have enough tears - if accusations are made, I simply would like to know their origin (book, media, experience). :waitasec: moo

The first call was made a few days after Harrell’s Feb. 11 arrest in Meridian, Miss., on a child warrant issued in Clay County. The call lasts about 5 ½ minutes.

I think the second batch of charges was around February 24. Did they take the camera/SD card and then find the pix or did they find the pix, take the camera/SD card and then later show pix to family members for identifying ...

Knowing that might help me decide who I think AD was referring to. I thought at one time she referred to "the little girl's mother" so we would not know who the little girl was that he'd taken pictures of -- a way to protect the child. But I'm not sure now.

I just don't want to see the thread flame up again..you know, just in case they are considering a sub forum (a sub forum would be great for all those that have followed this case and poured their hearts into it for the past 5 months).
If they come on here and see bickering...and say, nope, that thread is still a problem.

I had actually never seen that purple dress that Deina wore until i watched some viodeo footage that was posted. She wore that to Somer's funeral didn't she? I think she looked lovely. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and human nature is such, that we are all encouraged to be critics i guess.

I do not think there were pictures of Somer found in JH's stash because CCSO repeated over and over that the charges had nothing to do with Somer's case. I would think that if they had found pix of Somer in his possession, they would be connected.

The other mods and I have had to finally make the decision that there is to be no discussion of whether Somer's parents were good parents or bad parents. Period.

The discussion here periodically circles back to that topic and all hell breaks loose. You guys have beating a dead horse down to a science.

We are not going to give any warnings about this: you post about it and you will be given an automatic timeout.

The parents are not the issue and we want to keep the discussion on track.
Do us a favor: if someone posts about DT/ST good parent/bad parent, please do not respond to the post. Hit the alert button and we will handle it asap.

Right, and I started a thread this morning about a 12 year old boy that was killed by a RSO in Louisiana. His prior charges were against females...now he assaults and kills a young boy.

I think there is just no way normal people can understand the minds of these freaks.


And I agree, they can not all come from a home like JH's. I don't agree with the way he was broght up, but IMO there is no excuse for what he did.

Here are some quotes from the grieving mother about her murdered daughter:
(1)" She loved to dance, but she had no rhythm."
(2) "She couldn't chew bubble gum and walk at the same time."
(3) "We nick-named her "Grace."
(4) "I was disappointed with the lock of her hair they gave me. It seemed dirty."
(5) "I wanted to get rid of her things, but I was advised not to, so I packed them away for now.

How in the world could anyone hear or read those statements and have any other opinion about the mom than that she loved her daughter deeply and is only expressing her grief in her own way?

That is so sad. Somer sounds like a beautiful child, cute and funny. I get so angry at these cases, life just isn't fair! She should still be here today, enjoying her life, playing in the sunshine, singing and dancing.
I just think there are a lot of ignorant people that don't have a clue! God forbid that it is ever one of them, and i know personally i could only ever imagine the pain of the loss of a child when it happened to other people, until it happened to me and my family. Whatever you can imagine is nothing like the reality! When people say Deina isn't "normal", you are damn right, she will never be normal again after this, how could she be? Her world was turned upside down and inside out, and she will never look at life in the same way!

Its here in Ontario...going to be around 80 degrees tomorrow which will more likely be a record for us here, its only April 1st! I think the weather has gone bonkers along with the rest of the world lol.

As far as JH moms comments re: "the little girls mother isn't saying anything", i do think she was referring to DT and not the child he videotaped and molested. I just think this because from what we know the child appears to be a close family member, and if she was talking about that mom, I think she would have used a name or more personal phrase then "the little girls mother"

My guess is it meant DT was not coming out and saying anything about her thinking that JH is the man responsible for her daughter's death. Also DT's lawyer had put out the statement that DT would not be making any announcements until when and if JH was charged, and no doubt Annis would be reading all the articles about Somer at the time when her son was named a POI. So possibly she was referring to that.

They say it is the coldest Florida has had so far??? Today is just glorious weather. Can't believe some are still getting snow! Hope it all warms up there soon.
