probably to help with the foundation. and just to advice her of her rights with JH's trial ect. now days everyone pretty well needs a lawyer lawsuits ect
Was there something found with Somer's body that CCSO linked to the killer and they were able to rule out anyone in that group of 90? What could it have been?
Can anyone here tell me why D.T needs a lawyer???
Or possibly it was sperm inside Somer's body that allowed them to rule out the 90 RSO in the area? Since JH at that point had no priors his DNA was not on file & they couldn't match the DNA to anyone in the system. On JVM show didn't Mr. Thompson say she was raped?
I think you are right on Cheewawa007! IMO there would be no other way to r/o so many sex offenders in such a short time.

This is what i have thought too. If registered R.S.O's they would more than likely have had their DNA on a database, so that L.E. would be able to compare their DNA to what they had on Somer. I ascertained from the recent charges on J.H. that this crime was of a sexual nature?
It would be virtually impossible without some type of DNA, don't you think? While they were doing the door to door searches the night she disappeared, we have to keep in mind that most of the neighbors thought the house was vacant - the family had moved out two months prior. I think one of the neighbors while being interviewed, told the LE about JH being at the home earlier that day, or might have seen him carrying something to his car that looked suspicious and this info was kept close to the vest by LE. They sat back and watched his every move, waiting to make their move. I don't think he was on their radar the first few weeks, but I do think someone in the neighborhood saw something concerning JH on that day. The sheriff even said based on witness statement(s).
Somer Thompson's Mother on 'Today': Charges Against Harrell Bring Some Relief

ORANGE PARK, Fla. (AP) -- The mother of 7-year-old Somer Thompson, who vanished while walking home from school in October, says charges filed in her daughter's murder have brought some relief.
Diena Thompson told NBC's "Today Show" her family is doing "a little bit better" after detectives charged 24-year-old Jarred Mitchell Harrell with premeditated murder Friday.
Thompson said she goes through a gamut of emotions and that the pain is excruciating. She also said she thinks it would be fair for Harrell to get the death penalty.

Chee, I didn't think they'd have DNA that fast. I think it was midnight on 10/21 when they actually got to her body and transported her to Savannah.
By 10/23, Mary J. was making the statement that there was not a suspect among the 90 RSOs.
That is fast.
As mentioned before, sexually assaulted does not mean he didn't use an object.
I don't think they would have had DNA back that fast, but maybe all that "we're waiting for DNA results" was a load of crap to make the perp think they were inept.
I guess I could have missed it or forgot it but I do not remember any RSO's being ruled out or cleared.
I hope the media leaves D.T. alone now after all of this, and lets her grieve in private and concentrate on her other children. As sad as it is, they have made a charge with J.H. for Somer's murder, and sadly life still has to go on for the living. I personally don't think there is much more anyone can say about all of this at this point in time. I don't like media sensationalism!
Earlier today, she [Mary Justino] announced that police have interviewed all known sex offenders living close to the area where Somer vanished Monday, and said they do not suspect them in the murder.
Investigators finished interviewing the 90 sex offenders living within a five-mile radius of the area where Somer disappeared.
"We feel certain at this time we do not have any suspects who are members of that group," Justino said at a morning news conference.

Maybe this is as close to "cleared" as CCSO gets.
I think it was her choice to be on the show today. She is doing what she wants to do and I think she is on a mission.
