It happened here, but our wonderful MODS put a stop to it.

Deina is a very outspoken woman. The first time I saw her interviewed I thought "Man! She's a great person in the fight for justice!" I only wish losing Somer wasn't the way she became a spokesperson.

I hope she is a force from this point on, like Marc Klaas, John Walsh, Tim Miller - and more! So many parents of slain children end up being our leaders in the fight against crime. I thank the Lord I am not in that club and at the same time thank Him that they are such strong leaders for children.

Maybe not here...I HOPE not here, but I've been out on the net reading blogs, some of them I've very much respected in the past, and I am disheartened and disgusted by what I have read. How dare someone be so critical of DT and her being outspoken during her time of grief. My gosh why do people continue to tear her down? She just lost a little girl and had nothing to do with her murder.

You know people derive some kind of perverse pleasure from this, and i know, i have read these blogs too. There's nothing like getting to someone when they're down i guess. But, in reality these people are only really saying something about their own characters and it reflects on them, not Deina Thompson. It is really between D.T. and her conscience, and nobody else's business as a matter of fact.

I also wanted to say that i think Deina has a lot more people lifting her up and walking with her in her great time of need, than the ones that want to bring her down. I pray so, anyway.

I missed that. She needs to look at the whole time line of the computer evidence. That's a lot of trouble she will probably not bother doing.

JVM mentioned this one day last week I believe.
I too think her show has not researched all the details and are just jumping on the bandwagon of blameing LE for Somer's death basically.

IMO I'ts so easy for some to see every issue in black and white when in reality most issues are a shade of gray. I hate when news shows do that. They need to look into a case with a fine toothed comb before doing a segment on it.
Happens all the time.

I am going to be unusually negative here... ((sorry in advance mods you know I love you all)) but this is like the basement and this is not a forum to spread out the case facts... In Somer's case I have ALWAYS felt we needed a place to organize all of these facts, especially due to the fact that the perv responsible is finally going to trial. We may have a NOWAY here to keep thingS organized but spreading out IN A FORUM WOULD BE.. much easier. if we could make topics, etc. I for one will be asking this of a mod.

Nursebeeme - exactly! It feels somewhat hidden here and surely Somer deserves her own forum now with separate thread titles for the massive amount of info on this case.

my formal request has been PUT IN. Somer Thompson needs her own subforum like Niveah B, Sandra C, Chelsea K, Amber D, etc. we need spreading out room. And I dedicate my request in this case to NOWAY. Who has kept it all just so.....for the day that we get a place to spread out.

Somer's mother may NEED to vent right now. She strikes me as a very outspoken woman with an inner strength that is rare. Imhoo it is that strength that will help her take the lemons handed to her and try to make some lemonade. If she gets paid to make appearances more power to her and good for her. Something tells me that she will continue to speak out on behalf of her daughter and other similar victims for the rest of her life and that she most likely will not give a carp what anyone thinks about it (and also be able to pay no mind to people questioning her motives, etc). And you know, I respect her for it.

Thanks NB, I think DT is incredibly brave. Her strength is admirable and commendable. She deserves respect and a chance to grieve the loss of little Somer.

That's absolutely true, the one thing I always see whether it is a tragedy such as this, or someone is down on their luck, you find out that no matter how many evil or uncaring people there are, there are thousands of good people for every one of the bad.

Important message to all posters
The other mods and I have had to finally make the decision that there is to be no discussion of whether Somer's parents were good parents or bad parents. Period.

The discussion here periodically circles back to that topic and all hell breaks loose. You guys have beating a dead horse down to a science.

We are not going to give any warnings about this: you post about it and you will be given an automatic timeout.

The parents are not the issue and we want to keep the discussion on track.

Do us a favor: if someone posts about DT/ST good parent/bad parent, please do not respond to the post. Hit the alert button and we will handle it asap.

Could you please tell me how that is different to what we have here? I thought this was a special place to talk about Somer's case. How is a featured case discussion differ to this thread? I'm just asking because i don't know. Thanks.

Angels, we would have different threads for each topic: JH, Photos, Media Reports and Video, etc. instead of everything being in one thread.
