Geez...You're beating a dead horse! She's been cleared.

we thought that about Robert Manwill's mom too. All were thinking BF. But both were arrested.

Ok so what would be the differnce in Susan Smith? Couldn't she say the same thing?

Granted nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors. I just wanted to bring up My Opinion.

FYI, Susan Smith DID cry REAL tears, so I guess it makes her not a very good example.

I really hope that none of us are EVER in Diena's shoes. Has anyone ever heard of shock?

When my brother killed himself, I had NO tears at all but it didn't mean I wasn't DYING inside from the pain.

You cry when you cry.

In a nutshell - if you know - what was the mother's involvement?

I am not trying to argue. I had no idea about "thread #5" I was just asking a legitimate question. Sorry I will go back to my corner. I hope I am proved wrong when a arrest is made. (Even though we are all entitled to our own opinion

I think there is nothing wrong with your opinon and you are more than welcome to have it :) That is what has made posting on this thread such a pleasure, I really think we can respectfully disagree with one another :) Don't go away!!! We need to think of this from EVERY angle.

I promise I'm not questioning the mods or anyone else, but I've had this question for the better part of a year.

Isn't part of sleuthing investigating all possible angles? I absolutely don't think Diena has a thing to do with this, but I'm not sure why anyone is ever completely cleared before the completion of the investigation. I remember it with the Whites on the Ramsey case, etc. Just because a player in a case is more sympathetic than others (and I believe Diena is the most sympathetic one in this case, outside poor Somer) does that mean they should be automatically excluded in terms of getting a closer look? How do we know that these people are completely innocent? Has there ever been a case where a thread of thought has been forbidden and it turns out that person had guilty knowledge of a crime?

Honest questions. I just don't see how, from our distant vantage point, we know definitively that people are cleared when LE hasn't made that statement.

Shutterfly, your post was fantastic & complete with pictures. Wow! Of all the theories about why no one saw her, yours is in 1st place with me. I would have done the same as a kid. No, a chain link fence wouldn't stop a child. Just stick your toes in the links & you're over it in a sec.

There have been plenty of tears to the point where they dry up at times. Ever hear the expression, "I'm all cried out"? That's what that means. When you've cried so much, there is no more water. After rest or sleep, they replenish and the tear ducts are able to expel them. I know it's difficult to pick up on TV at times. I've seen one video version and don't detect them and see it again on another channel at a different angle or different lighting, and they are plainly visible. I don't think this woman's tears should be in question, her pain is real. That is my opinion.
Kind of off topic, regarding the lack of tears...

My dad, whom I completely worshipped, died unexpectedly, and right in front of me, 2 years ago. I remember I was worried something was wrong with me because I was heartbroken, yet not crying like I thought I 'should' have been.

Months later, I saw a man from behind that reminded me of my father, until he turned around, and I realized he wasn't, and that my dad was really gone forever. Something in me 'broke' right then, and even though I was in a very public place surrounded by strangers, I just started bawling my eyes out, totally unable to stop crying.

I finally got to my car, and just sat there for a long time until I stopped crying long enough to drive. Then I had to keep pulling over, as I'd start crying again and wasn't able to see through my tears to drive.

For the next several months, I would cry at the drop of hat, at very inappropriate times.

I believe now, I had a delayed reaction in crying, due to extreme shock and grief. This may be the same case with Somer's mom.

Here is food for thought for the people who are sketical of mom and family. Do you think John Walsh and Sheriff would be talking about there being a child killer on the loose. Having a community up in arms. I just don't think they would be handling the case this way if there wasn't some dangerous unknown predator they were looking for.

I think as parents we are all faultworthy. No parent is perfect. I think it says something the Mom at least cared enough to have someone at home meet the children when they would arrive. Granted, yes they had a long walk - not my personal choice for my own children - but I am sure she had to do what worked for their family. That is a LONG and scary walk, IMO and who knows what trouble lurked in the shadows. JMO

Somer may have struck another child with a backpack then ran ahead.

Mother looked for her for about 2.5 hours and at a little after 5:00 flagged down a passing patrol car and reported her daughter missing.

JMO, but I don't think Somer's mom had anything to do with this. Every time I've seen her on TV - with the exception of the vigil - she looked like a complete mess/wreck. I thought I saw her cry real tears, but even if that wasn't caught on video, she always had a bright red face, bags under her eyes, half the time it looked like her hair wasn't brushed. She looked like a grieving mom, not someone trying to get attention. Compare her to Casey Anthony's "lawyer outfit" and perfectly straightened hair.

Who is? What do you mean? We can't bring up different possibilities? Only one and that is it? I have done nothing wrong but asked a question to which everyone got upset over. Like I said I am going back to my corner and will just con't reading due to these kind of threats.

  • #613
No I was not aware of it. Sorry if I was I would not have brought it back up.

I am not sure of the possibilities I just never saw a tear is all. Well look at Robert Manwill's case wasn't his mom at work also and she is arrested for being involved in his case?

I personally do not believe that tears or lack there of can be used as an indicator of guilt. Everyone handles grief differently.

Just want to clarify that on thread 5 I did remove a couple of posts and replies just now. I will not allow anyone to directly attack another poster for their opinion, so keep that in mind for future posts. I saw NOWHERE that anyone said the mother did it. This thread is no different than the numerous threads in the Haleigh case where posters disagree on their thoughts.......Guess we could just pull ALL threads and shut the forum down so noone can post until a case is completely solved......

how can they say that she looked for her for 2.5 hrs. She didn't even get the text she was missing til around 4, then went home,I would say about 30 min maybe from Park St,jax....I think that is where she worked...and if she came down 17, which is prob the way she would come home, she would have been met with base traffic that lets out at 3:30, and trust me, that is NO FUN...maybe she worked on Park St in Orange Park?

Please, no more discussion of Somer's mom. We almost lost a thread the other day because of it. We have all put a lot of work into these threads...especially this one and I would hate to see it go poof.

Look, at the comments to this article. No, REALLY, please read the one about him being seen rummaging in dumpsters around the area in August. I would say if he can get into and out of dumpsters, he could subdue a 7 year old. MOO. Also tells how he approaches people.

I didn't mean what she SAID was creepy I am talking about the fact that she SMILED. I just found that weird. As I said above I don't think she had anything to do with it.

Maybe she smiled because she was thinking about what she would like to do to the perp if she could get a hold of him. I didn't see it so I am just guessing.

Thanks for this. I didn't know about the other thread. No more talking about it from me. I don't even think she did it!

Good morning,
The vast majority on here are looking in the wrong direction. Pay particular attention to body language/discourse analysis in the interviews on the day of this crime, and on days immediately after.
Once you have done so, you will know more.
Add this to information gleaned from the police report, google maps and police procedure and you will know who murdered this child.

Thank you.

When I saw this video the guy to the left of the mom kind of made
me question the way he is acting..... especially when they asked her if she
knew how she died... he mouths "no". Does anyone know who he is?
TIA
