Here is the thing that I am not following. On myflorida records. It shows one of the kids having first name that is of the last name of Paul - see what I am saying?? I swear I stared at the thing to make sure I was not mistaken.

No, I saw it, too. Very puzzling. Maybe just another one of those "errors" like LE has made. ?????

Yeah, I did see that. I think it is a mistake. A's birth record (ancestry.com, requires subscription):

Name: A. G. C.
Date of Birth: 12 May 1996
Gender: Male
Birth County: Bell
Father's Name: Paul M. C.
Mother's Name: Diena R. B.

The other 3 children are Sam's as far as I know.

And when I search here:

https://www.myfloridacounty.com/ser...hisPage=MyFloridaCounty.ORI.Order.state.Start

Seems like one of the kids FIRST names matches the last name on the prior document I found - the crytic one - sorry, I am trying to do my best since I know I can't post specific links.
And to explain more:
The Intials would be CT but it seems they were named after the last name of a possible BIO dad? Anyone else following me? I don't want to start any rumors but it is plain as day to me. And if that were ALSO the case, then maybe Thompson hubby had adopted this child since they have the Thompson last name.???

Did anyone notice that Somer is not listed with the rest of the children?? Are my eyes failing me?? Can somebody else double check me?? TIA

but 3 of them are Sammy Thompson's children... 1 of them is not... he may have adopted him & that is why two last names show up. the 13 yr old possibly has a hyphenated name...

I just had a great idea.,...lets wait and read the obituary...they won't get it wrong....I also wanted to mention that I received a recorded call from my son's principal today warning parents about the dangers out there due to this situation in Orange Park.....

Nope, you are correct about that!

Hi Jhawk, That is a good guess, as isn't that the profiling dept if the FBI? I think so. The post says allot without saying anything and think it is probably a hoax too. I see it as focusing on the mother, as who else was interviewed in the first day or the following day? She was the one on every news channel. I don't see her as the perp, :waitasec: IMO

I am leaning toward this BSU being a hoax. If they want me to believe this, then they need to come back and give me more significant and substantial information to base my thought process on. And, another thing is if they know so much, why would they be messing with us here, why not take it straight to LE? This is a serious matter! IMO

Thanks for the link. I just read this article, and I think one would have to have some training in order to perform discourse analysis. The major points, however, seem to be that 1) discourse is never neutral, 2) there is always an underlying meaning, 3) understanding can be gleaned by examining which discourse gives the person power, 4) further understanding comes by looking at not only what is said, but what is left out.
That's my take on it. Not as good as I once was in reading comprehension....just might be too many diet cokes and cigs. Hmmm, think I'll go have one of each now.
Veteran Sleuthers, maybe you can fit this sketch into the early videos. BTW, I am totally in awe of all of you and your ideas!

Maybe her name doesn't show up because of typos. It may not list all of them on there because of that typo with the first name as C... know what I mean?

The oldest was 3 when she married Thompson?

My son was 3 when I remarried, and my new husband adopted him and we changed his name.

His real father signed his rights away in exchange for no child support. He never did bother with him.

You don't think Somers real name was Cardinal do you? Prob not. Just weird that name is on there and Somers is not.

Too bad it was a recorded call or you could've told the principal you're already aware of the situation! ;)

Seems like BSU believes to have figured it all out due to someone's body language and by analyzing the discourse from watching the interviews. Wonder what police procedure showed BSU in regards to this interviewee since BSU also mentions that?

  • #297
Ok, let me just say before I start, I'm gonna need someone's help on this one because I don't remember the specifics but here goes...

What has been going on in my spinning head since this morning when BSU posted is this... Remember one of the early interview with a neighbor or friend or something that was talking about the trash collection and said something along the lines of "take that how you want to"

Anybody remember that????
It's been nagging on me all day and I have to ask opinions or y'all to help me out.

Did anybody ever come up with what she may have meant by that.

It was pretty early on IIRC (maybe even before body was found)

I am thinking that our hit and run may have DISCOURSE problems themselves.........

Oh and I got another last name to throw into the mix - Lamb - off us search

same thing happened with someone in my family... however the child was 9 yrs old when adopted... and she kept her "original" last name then hyphen then new last name...
